SRI info

To the pros out there. Starting to get my engine mods in order. First off I'd like to do a SRI. Not looking to spend hundreds of dollars. Would something like this work?

I'm going to give that a strong "probably". And by that I mean I think it will, but have zero evidence to back that up.

SRI is definitely a worthwhile investment, IMO. I've been very happy with my Takeda.

Awesome, thanks Burton. I wouldn't see why not as they are pretty much the same platform. Thanks for the help! We'll see if others chime in!

If you decide to get it, please snap some pics of the install and fitment, as others might want be interested in one.

I know basically nothing about this topic, but I noticed that the posting specifies auto transmission. Is there a difference when you have a manual. My limited understanding of it tells me there shouldnt be but again I dont know much about this.

yeah it will fit spend the extra cash and get one with a heat shield or air box cooler. the way the intake works it will be mounted right back by the exhaust not towards the front of the engine bay.

Thanks for the info. Thats what I was thinking too. On my VW it is mounted right of the MAF with a small shield but air is directed right too it from the front.

A good one with a shield will be much better in the long run than one with out. If you save a few bucks on the SRI without one, you're going to be wondering how you can fab one for it or wish you'd have just gotten it in the first place. just my .02

I loved the Takeda intake. Very well thought out, it's for a lancer, but they are now being marketed to the OS crowd, because we're basically the same thing in a UTE package. Strut bars for the Lancers also fit our platform no different than what they were "originally" made for.

FYI. This thing really likes the stability of the strut bar in corners. Night and day difference. (if do get one, don't go with the "hinged" kind, get a SOLID one) Yes, hinged work, but think about it,,,,,, why would you put hinges on a part meant to keep things from flexing???

Thanks Krater, I have a good setup on my VW, so I know a heat shield is always a good idea. I have been looking at strut bars, Same thing is intakes? If it fits a lancer, should fit the OS? thanks guys!

For the most part, yes. Be cautious with the RallyArt
