Custom Satellite Radio Mount

Got a SiriusXM Sportster 5 that I wanted to mount in my RVR. Not crazy about cluttering the windshield with those suction cup mounts, so I decided to custom fab a mount that would use that useless non-cup holder. Simple parts list: a rubber band. a 2" threaded ABS black threaded pipe adapter and a 2" ABS cap. A few M4x10 screws to mount that pad for the radio and a little piece of plastic or metal to attach the mount to the top of the pipe cap.

Voila! If you are looking for wires, they are all routed through the pipe cap at the back and everything is stored or routed there. Once I get my EDO Tech Sirius power supply I will likely hardwire that as well, but for now the 12v plug in next to the non-cup holder provides the juice.

iOttie mounts for phones/etc work great - super strong suction and sticky pad will stick to slightly curved or textured dashes. i like stuff at eye-level if possible.

routing wires from the top of the dash might be another problem, though.

More crap on the dash. And wires. No thanks. However for cell phones they might be OK.

And that is why you use the included Sirius remote control. No need to ever touch the Sportster.

ok, cool - be safe out there.

not to get too off topic, but i DL'd Torque Pro app the other day, and its pretty sweet. it has a LOT more features - i figured it would remove ads and have a couple other things. i had been using the free version, until i got a "lower profile" Bluetooth OBDII adapter (with an on/off button). the one i had hung down too low, was afraid of tearing it out with my leg.

when i get a chance, i'll try it on the OS and see what kind of 0-60, etc. i can get, comparing FWD, AWD auto, and AWD lock.
