4x4 Topic:: Off Road OS concept

Found this while trolling the web today. Pretty cool looking OS, rugged setup.

Some cool pics are out there on the capabilities of the Mitsu brand. Love that S-AWC on the Big O. My Jeep would keep all 4 planted, but this shot sure looks cool on a stock Outlander.

Yeah I hope a rally/off-roader version of the RVR or Outlander comes into fruition. Take on the rockies during summer and winter!

So any word on a lift? I saw the post with the Tuff Country stuff, but it is showing it will not work for the Sporty.

Nope no lift kits out there. Maybe go with a universal/spring spacer to lift it just a tad. Also h&r makes springs for the OS that'll lift it up some

I POSTED THIS IN AN EARLIER THREAD

Don't know if you want; but h&r makes a set of lowering and raising springs for our vehicles. The raising spring will give you 30mm all around which is about 1.18. I would get those since they're most likely designed to handle the extra lift and weight of the vehicle and then maybe put a spacer on them. Or just go with a spacer on your stocks lol like mentioned. Part number is 28805-1 won't find any in America lol eBay or google search it's going to ship from overseas

I've been doing A LOT of research. Couldn't we OS owners use the aftermarket parts that are used on the Jeep Patriot and the Jeep Compass since we use the same body? Check my links

Sharing the same platform and the same components are doable. The issue gets to be when the components are not the same as what you need you waste money.

Your best bet would to see if you can compare like parts at a parts counter or a JY.
Goodluck with your endeavor.... "I" am wanting to see a successfully lifted OS..

For info, 07-13 OUTLANDER coilovers fit our cars, same mounting points bottom and top. So idk how much higher the 07-13 OUTLANDER sits but you can try the OEM suspension. or also if there is a LIFT KIT for the 07-13 OUTLANDER, you can also try that

If you are dealing with stock components, be aware that you may have to either drill or grind (dremel perhaps) the hole locations to offer enough adjustment for camber.
This comes straight from the dealer after a few attempts / checks of my alignment after swapping my Outlander to 19's in the 245 width. (but it can be done)

All he would need is the Megan rear upper control arms, to have "adjustable" camber, no need to drill or hack the factory, the rear barely offers any adjustment at All. Or any of the aftermarket upper arms. You should look into them as well

My issue wasn't with the rears, but the fronts. I haven't looked into any other components than the springs. H R looks to have a promising set and someone's Purple spring (forget the name).I'm just not to that point where I want to go lower yet, but it is on the agenda.
