New user, new ASX (Australia)

Hi - or g'day - from Australia
Have been poking around for a reasonably active ASX forum to read, looks like this is the one. I don't believe I've seen any other Aussies in this section, or I havent been looking hard enough??

Anyways, yesterday took delivery of a white ASX - 2.0L petrol/2WD/CVT/LS grade. Pretty fresh off the boat, Japanese built in May 2016 with just 8KM on it. Awesome. I am glad the redesigned front end is not sold here yet, woulda had second thoughts!

My parents bought Toyotas for many years, I have decided to defect to the Mitsubishi side for now This ASX is a huge upgrade from my first/current car a 2007 Toyota Yaris with tiny 1.3L engine and not much by way of specs! Very impressed so far.

From the dealer I got headlight protectors, rubber mats and darkish tint to match the privacy glass (but nothing on windscreen, its illegal here). I added some cheap fake leather seat covers for the front seats.

In Australia the ASX is sold in 2 grades right now, LS or XLS. They come with a lot of standard gear for a good price. Specs are here if interested: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/...specifications

Got it booked in with detailer next week for Opticoat & Optiglass.
Originally I wanted to completely vinyl wrap in a nice dark purple, until I found how much that would cost!

Anyways, enough rambling for now. I'm mostly a lurker so back to the lurking!

Congrats, and good luck! Many happy miles with 'her! (Glad you didn't go purple-sorry...) Any plans, or modifications on the list? Cheers!

Welcome aboard.
Good to see another rhd owner on the site.
I'm slightly jealous as you cannot get the rubber floor mats in the UK.

To the OP - nice! White is awesome (although purple is cool. For now... LOL) You should black out the centre grille bar. Evo-ish.

For mats, it is pretty hard to beat Weathertech. Same for ASX as OS/RVR. They rock for a couple hundred bucks. My OEMs are in a box somewhere...

Thanks guys

As for mods, not sure, I will have a good look through the other threads here and see if anything interesting. But unlikely to be anything serious, and definitely no lowering. I bought this to help see past all the large SUV's on the road lol.

Yes I'd thought about black out the grille bar, would definitely look good. Perhaps the roof in matte black vinyl. Oh and the speakers will be upgraded for sure. Planning to keep the car for 10 years, can't have blah speakers for that long lol.

Time to start saving up!

Sort of... they sell the rear mats. Why they do not make the front is beyond me since it (and variants) are very popular. And they have the pattern: just have to mirror it.

There must be an alternative...

I saw the rears are the same regardless of whether it's lhd or rhd but they don't currently do the fronts for a rhd.
I've looked almost everywhere and my only option at present was buy a set of Mitsubishi ones from Australia but shipping is over £50 which is more than the mats so I wasn't doing that.
I got a rubber set for the wife's ASX off eBay and there ok and are a custom fit but the quality isn't anywhere as good as OEM ones.
