Battery Replacement ( OEM coverage period )
Just had another episode with a non-start with our O.S. yesterday. It left my wife and two girls stranded. It happened almost exactly to the day from last year.
Looks to be the battery again..
I used another battery (wallyworld) to get it to the dealership, they said they would have replaced the OEM battery IF it was within 2yrs of original, after that would be 50/50.
I want to ask if anyone knows for sure what the OEM battery warranty is and would it be worth it to go with an OEM battery (at $175 per) since ours barely lasted 3 years.
May be a start, but have you looked in replacing all the fuel related relays in the engine compartment. Coming from a RA and in the X community as well mitsu had a lot of issues with those relays that can cause many different issues, and of course one of those was starting of the vehicle. I don't know if you're on the FB page but I gave all the related info to the OS guys.
ANd as far as a battery look into the diehard gold agm battery. Great low price, specs are better/on par with most agm batteries on the market like optima and Deka, better than optima even. For a fraction of the price and with either 3 year warranty, or it may even be 5. You can fit a 24 or 34 type battery in there if you take out the battery tray, they seem to have better specs than the 35, the diehard doesn't come in 35, so you would need a 34.
Need to look into our battery as well. I honestly think it may be the OEM one from 2012. Cannot be sure though, i'lll have to look at the punch marks on the Mitsu sticker.

Thank you for the suggestion on the Diehard AGM. I may very well get a new battery.
I took a better look at my old OEM battery, it has freaking bulges in the sidewalls!
Lame.

i have this one - $39 on Amazon, 500A peak current, needs recharged 1-2 times per year, and can charge cell phones, etc. in a pinch.
Hey man...
Did you buy them all?? I can't find the one anymore at your price
It appears that you have a unique problem and I am sorry for your inconveniences.
Nast_Nas made an interesting and considerable comment (thanks for this info, Nast_Nas). Just out of curiosity, do you have remote starter installed on your car?
As far as buying a jump starter is concerned I agree with Landshark, you should get one.
If you do not find this item, here is what you may consider. Although it may appear patriotic to buy from American companies/small businesses but these products were all manufactured at the other side of the globe. You may try to do some comparative shopping instead and save some money on the very same item. Ebay is loaded with these. I purchased off Ebay a similar product a while ago and got it significantly cheaper than the price quoted from sources in North America.
It is patriotic to support companies, like WeatherTech, where the manufacturing is done in the States also but I am not sure about those, who do buy these items off Ebay/Alibaba etc. and resell it with profit.
