Question about lift kits for 2017 OS

Everything I can find for lift kits for the Outlander Sport are for older models. Were there any major changes that would prevent me from bolting an older model’s kit onto my 2017 OS SE?

I don't know of any major changes. I used the tema4x4 40mm lift kit labeled "mitsubishi outlander 2006-present." I believe they also have a 30mm option. I have a 2018 SEL.

same here, it’s actually a decent quality lift and wasn’t too bad of an install. I defiantly helped the OS gain some clearance!

do you think this lift kit would work for a 2021 outlander sport es? where did you find it?

did you have your front bumper custom built? or did you find it online?
i want to do something similar with my 2021 outlander sport es, or either install a bull bar, but every shop i have gone to has refused to work on it or has said there isnt enough room on the bottom to mount something since its a unibody frame. im pretty invested in this project and would love some advice in some directions i should take to get to my overall point and appearance of my vehicle. thanks!

Mitsubishi seems to use the same platform for years so you should be fine. But the 2023 Mitsubishi's are going full Nissan BIG MISTAKE UGG!

hard for me to remember what I had done when I was running the lift on the oem wheels. I did get an alignment after upgrading to 16x8 +20 235/70 3 months later, and that was still within spec, but just barely. if i had gotten adj camber bolts, my guy would've had an easier time.

I know this is a old post but I stumbled onto these guys if anyone is still looking for lift kits. Plus they are in the U.S and seem like quality made. I ordered the kit and will be installing soon. https://awdadventure.com/collections...r-1-5-lift-kit

I like that design but ended up going with a polyurethane spacer and longer studs to make up the difference. Make sure you get camber bolts for the front. And adjustable upper arms for the rear.

I'm pretty sure Anderson sells both! Or you can source them yourself.

New to the forum today, but really loving all of the information on the OS/ASX/RVR... it is incredible how hard it is to find some of the parts online, but this forum has put together an incredible amount of information.

My question is about the front and rear sway bars after lifting the OS. I have a 2020 OS SE AWD. I have ordered the 1.5" lift from Anderson Design, and the H & R lift springs, which I should get about 2.5 - 3" lift. I also got the camber bolts for the front, and the adjustable camber arms for the back. Will the sway bars and sway bar links need to be upgraded. I spoke with Whiteline on a chat for their sway bar kits, but they basically said that it is tricky and I may have to fabricate some custom parts. Pretty sure I just need to keep looking, as I would prefer not to fabricate sway bars and links. I did see the list of parts that are interchangeable with the Lancer, but I guess my question would be ... has anyone already done the sway bar upgrades, and was it absolutely necessary after the lift.

@drlloyd76 prior to lifting my ASX I consulted my mechanic. His concern was the CV axle geometry if you go anything higher than 2". I ended up using a 30mm spacers and 30mm lift springs. For us SAE bastards that's 2.346". My car has a slight rear negitive rake (the front suspension sits higher than the rear). Most people don't notice it but I do.

Most of the details can be found: here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...bishi-asx.html

I did purchase some whiteline front sway bars as listed in my page. After the lift, in first gear (yes I dive a manual 5spd ASX) there is some rubbing on the end links. I've yet to install the whiteline front sway bar end links. I also recently tore the left front CV axle outer boot. I was planning on replacing both of them with some upcoming PTO.

I wouldn't recommend going any higher than 60mm in the front. I'm thinking about going another 10mm in the rear to level out the stance. I'm a front wheel drive so I don't have to worry about axle geometry in the rear. But I keep going back and forth on that.

I'm 6'1 and I have to step up to get into my car it's not bad just different. I have a short wife and two short kids who complain about having to jump to get in.

I don't have to mention how much it changes the ride when you put a lift kit in. But my lift is also exacerbated by taller tires with more rubber thus losing the ground hugging low profile stock 18-in rim tire setup.

It's not bad just different.

So as far as you're almost 3in lift I think you're sort of going into uncharted waters. I'd love to see you create your own build thread to help others!

Thank you for the reply. Yeah, hopefully I'm not pushing the limits of the AWD OS. I have seen a few people on YouTube running the spacer and the lift springs, and "allegedly" having no major issues. I also want to go from a 225/55-18 (stock) to a 235/65-18 which I believe will clear without too many issues. I think putting a 235/70-18 may be pushing it... but I'll measure clearance once I get the lift in place before I buy tires. With lift and tires, I'm hoping to get an additional 4" total of ground clearance.

On a side note... this all started because the stock shocks feel like they are worn out... at only 40K miles. One thing led to another, and then it turned into this incredible rabbit hole of doing an overhaul of the suspension. I don't ever plan to do any deep mud, but I would like to go into more of the off-road trails in some of the state parks with confidence.

As for overall handling, I will see what sway bars will work, as I think this will definitely help keeping it from getting too squirrely around town.
