Man, I still can't believe I live in Seattle.
After driving around a bit more, I think I'm definitely liking Renton more than West Seattle. Kinda wished I moved there instead. Oh well, least I'm only 5 miles from work.

driving in renton is going to be a lot nicer, but living in seattle is going to be nicer

Get out and enjoy Alki, Lincoln Park, and some of the nice parks that aren't too far from you... before the gloom settles in.
anyone looking to sell a lightly used Android tablet? I'd prefer something capable of running Jelly Bean, and at least 7" screen. I'm eyeballing a Nexus7, but not sure if I want to pick it up or not (it is for my wife, so it would likely be good enough).

. Either way, we like suburbia new / nice / etc. seems a lot of places are run down around here
That's Seattle in general. Most of the close in neighborhoods were done in the 1910s-1930s. So there's a slew of 80-100 year old houses with some newer construction scattered in. Most of West Seattle is a little newer than that, but not much. Lots of 50s/60s construction.

I longboard on Alki pretty often in the summer. Love that place!
Alki is not West Seattle. That's like saying Waikiki beach is a proper representation of Oahu.
Alki is a transient daytime population explosion. Now if you were to say the sleepy Alki that exists during the wet months, mid-week, without the sports bikes, joggers, bikers or import crowd was "Alki" then you would be onto something. Something boring and out of the way from anything.
Suppose its worth chiming in that I lived on Alki twice during my life. At age 7 for a year, and at 25 fresh off of divorce for another year. Both times were directly across the street from the sound.
