Just wanted to stop in and say hello... Ive been wanting to get rid of my current car for a while now (07 Ford Focus ST) because of mechanical issues and that its time for an upgrade. Been looking at Evo 8's in the area and test drove a couple but havent found one that is clean enough. First one i test drove was a white 04 and i loved it besides the fact that it had a boost controller, holes in the dash from removed gauges, a rattle noise in the lower part of the engine when at idle, and the brakes and tires needed to be replaced. Will be hard to find one that hasnt been tortured it seems.
Will probably be 6-12 months before i get into an evo but figured i'd get an early start in the community.

definitely good to get involved in the community before getting the car. It would have certainly changed what I did considerably if I didn't make a snap purchase. Not that I haven't enjoyed the car, just a couple things I would have done a bit differently.
Qouted for truth on that. I wish I would have scoped out the forums for awhile before my snap purchase, would have alot less head-aches and oil leaks..
Truly hope i get a great evo!
It is a little further away but in puyallup, check out Car Clinic. They've always worked on my families cars and always treated us fair. Price is good too!

^I'm not familiar with that shop, but as I posted in the more directed thread, overheating issue is more of a universally-ish issue and a good shop should be able to diagnose.
For those like Dan that don't have FB,
Wagon is coming along
Down to electrical really now, need some new radiator hose clamps, a slim fan or two and linkage for the Carbs. Other than that she is just about ready for the road
