No o2 housing support = cracked manifold. No point in going tubular unless you go with something like JMF, Shearer, AFI...be ready for almost $1k though. They actually put R&D into theirs...cheap chinese pop can metal megan is junk. Hell they leave the antilag ports on their that do more harm than good. Stick with a stocker. PPI, MAP, and Buschur all port them quite well. From seeing them it looks like MAP does the deepest port work for reasonable prices...if it were me I would opt for them.
I appreciate everyone's input. exhaust manifold mod will not be on the top of my list. So i got a hell of a deal for some S1 cams. should i wait till i get more exhaust mods before i put it on?
^you will definitely want a tune after the cams, so you probably want to wait until you get more items installed. English dyno day at the drift office? (wink, wink!) I know I'd be down!
Turbo back exhaust
intake
LICP
o2 housing (not a must, but its more power, and the megan o2 hosuing is great!)
a ported exhaust mani would help
mbc
and then your cams. At least that is how I did it.
Oh, shortly after the cams (power wise) your going to want a bigger fmic.

There is another blue ix that cruises around Kent, maybe it was him? If it was at the Kent street races, it was him, because I have never been there in the evo.
Went to Group 2 and started checking parts. They seem fine, and properly installed. One big difference is that it takes lots more torque to rotate the front coilover in the pillow ball mount than it does the stock strut/mount - you can spin the stock top mount with your finger.
The verdict is that the parts (ball joints, tie rod ends, camber plates) are just tight and will loosen up some over time, but the pillow ball will never rotate as freely as the stock mount (until it wears out!).
So, they put it back together and I'll drive it a while see what happens. The car handles great, but the steering feel is degraded. Maybe I'll get used to it, if all you eat is dog food you eventually think it tastes good!
Thanks to codgi, dbsears, and jid2 for their comments & suggestions.

can anyone tell me if the act flywheel in that link can still be shaved and used?

Hey, if you want to do it then do it. You already have the S1s as it is. The only thing I was looking out for was time/money. Assuming you're getting a tune from ER you would have to drive all the way down there for the cam tune then you would likely want to go back down for a tune after you open up the breathing. 2 x tunes and 2 x trips to Camas adds up!
