Sweet mtn ride pickup! You need a new camera - major bluriness on the right of those pics. Didn't you say you dropped that one out the window on accident?

future goals, hopefully able to be in the 550awhp range,

i have...

Hks 272/ cams,
Hks cam gears
Greddy 3" titanium exhaust, 3 inch down, 3 inch test pipe
reflashed by vishnu performance (Getting tuned by lucas at english in a few weeks)
Turbosmart dual port bov
hks suction air intake(need to get rid of asap!)
Full-race prostock mani
Ams fmic

future

2.3 stroker in next couple months
Basically build the block fully, squeeze some more boost in and hope for the best.

Question to you guys:

So i have a turbosmart bov dual port, and i just installed the hks suction air intake. I know the intake is not good but it was temporary until english installs my kit in a few weeks. Ive noticed eversince the install, when im spooling up (accelerating) the bov will let you air by itself with me still on the gas.

I thought i might have messed the tightness on the bov, so i put it on hard and still its doing it.

When i floor it, it just backfires,

So i thought its simple, its not fully-recirculated so thats prolly the issue.

Just wanted to see if i can get your guys's imputs on that!

Thanks.

When you do the build are you going to mess with the top end? You might have a hard time getting to 550 to the wheels with the HKS cams as they are pretty mild. You likely want to go with S2s, or S2Rs, or FP cams (likely the 5RS, since you're going with a stroker anyway). Who is doing your engine build?

So I'm not sure if I completely understand your problem. You have the HKS suction just installed and I'm not sure what you mean by "the bov will let you air by itself with me still on the gas." Do you mean it is starting to vent? This didn't happen prior to the HKS suction, I assume; are you sure you aren't just hearing more air moving with the KHS?

So you floor it, you notice whatever event occurring to lead you to believe the above issue, and then it backfires? What was your setup previously for air intake? Do you still have the stock MAF in place? Do you have a wideband, and if so what does your AFR read when this occurs? I'm guessing that your AFRs are off due to a change, likely your HKS since that is the only change you mentioned. I assume you have had that bov (but I could be wrong).

Good luck!

The bov vents out air to the atmosphere when im stepping on the gas, while the turbo is spooling. i tried to tighten the bov, no help. I assumed its possibly a bov leak, or because its not 100% recirculated?

This problem didnt happen before the hks intake install. Anyways its coming off soon, english said they include custom intake with installing Fp black.

Also i know its easy, im a newbbb but i need help adjusting my manual boost controller, gain, set, limiter settings. lol

^hahah DIY.

Dont be scared to take on it yourself. its super easy. the hardest part is taking out the underpanel. other than that, you can easily take the bumper out and baM! you have easy access to the licp.

what kind of licp are you going for?

You sure it is the bov venting and not a boost leak, as you said? If the leak is coming from the actual bov it is either not set correctly for your vacuum level or there is a problem with it. I'm guessing the only interaction you had with the bov when installing the HKS was recirc pipe. Have you done a boost leak test?

As for messing with your MBC, since you are getting an ER tune in a couple weeks with the Black, I'd say just leave it as is. If you don't have someone logging your results you won't really know what you're doing. You wouldn't want to cause a stress situation a couple weeks before getting the black on there, and having the pros at ER work on the car.

Agreed with Josel and don't worry, he is laughing near you, not at you. It wasn't that long ago that we were in my garage doing one of his first removal/install. He didn't want to touch the exhaust by himself, which is also an easy DIY project.

If you need to use a ramp system I can help, but probably not today. He is correct though, the LICP is really easy especially with the undertray removed.
