At the regional qualifying event last weekend my billiard team won 1st place in our division with a 5-0 match record and a 15-4 in individual matches. (each match is a best of 5)

The prize is $2,000 towards airfare, 6 nights at the Rivera hotel, paid entry fee and registration for the APA National finals in Las Vegas.

Oh, 1st place at the Nationals is $600,000. Wonder what I could get with ~$70,000 (after tax of course)?

sweet. yeah we only got $1800 for 9ball. which is ok. but shoot free trip to vegas and a chance to win big down there. im game. is this your first time goin to vegas for nationals?
Merged the chat from the sitings thread...

Thats awesome! what rank do you shoot at in 8/9 ball? Whats your team name and where do you shoot out of?

They short changed you! JK, how many people in your team? we have 7 so they based the check on that.

This will be my first time to Vegas EVER, and this past session was my first session playing pool since I was in the 12 and under youth league many, many, many years ago.

You got the mad skillz!

I'm currently a 2 in 9-ball and a 4 in 8-ball (they only throw me in 9 against rank 7's so i loose alot)

We can definately setup a little scrimmage, except your going in 9 and we're in 8 so it wouldnt be the best practice. Oh, and whats up with 7' tables? that sucked. We practice on 9' tables.

so is this ur first time in APA? its good to be a low rated player because you dont have to win as much as high rated players. and shoot you only have to get to 19 ***** in 9ball. lucky every year we play on 7'tables for all cities. but in league we play on 8'tables. i think its easier to set up and take apart. cuz i go down to lincoln city every year and we play on 7'tables too. its ok we can get together and practice both 8 and 9

^sounds like you both are pretty buh-dass. I suck so bad at pool, unless we're counting the skill of launching a ball off the table at least once per game.

HAHA back in the day (96??) when the 6th ave bowling alley in Tacoma had pool tables we invented our own version of pool only to be played LATE nite... 2 tables, 2 racks and a s*** load of jump *****... haha oh memories of that...

Video games lined the pool room back then, so hitting a game meant extra points! (Or free ball down lol)

For Sir Kyle: Its a bar league! Our team has a rule that no player named Ryan may drink prior to matches. And he must play the first match of each night.

It worked out well for everybody.

The APA handicap system is kinda wack though. And I find 9-ball to be quite a bit more challenging than 8-ball which is probably why the lower ranking persists.

JDMEvo, are you on a Tuesday or Sunday night league? I'm trying to set up a friendly game between our teams but want to work with everybody's schedules.

Was watching the news and saw an Evo VIII I believe on the report. The 18 year old hit another car dead on while reportedly texting.

Couldn't find a picture of the car in the accident but I hope hes not on here.
