Help with coilover in stall question

Hey all, I just purchased a set of coilovers and installed them on my 2006 evo. They were brand new, and i installed them, front and rear. I dropped the car down to see hight, and decided i wanted to go lower. Has anyone ever had a problem of the lowering collar hitting there front axle boots and riping them? cause i took my wheels off today and realized both boots were riped on top and grease was spraying everywere. dont know if its cause the collar is too close to the boot because of how much i lowered it or what?

any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

You would need to take the whole this off and spin the portion that has the 2 holes for the strut bolts.

I did the same thing to my one side. I raised the strut and lowered the spring perches. I lowered car and put my hand down there to feel the gap in between the boot and the bottom of the strut.

The portion that's orange needs to be spun down and you have to remove the strut to do that
