Nah, I like it, I am looking over the contract though, I put a decent amount of money down, i happened to lease it for 48 months and my payments are 401. Seems odd, because I got the car itself for 30,000 + tax, titles, all that bs. I got the car a little below invoice b/c my counsins boyfriend sold me it. I put 8500 down, yet I still owe 33,500 or so? the % is also 5.2%? I dont see how I trade my car in and put cash down, yet still owe pretty much sticker price for the car itself. I have no clue how the hell I went from 24,000 or so, all the way up to 33. I am very lost, need to call my cousin up and figure this out tomorrow, b/c they want the Lancer by Monday but I dont wanna get screwed here.

Sounds like you better do your homwork on this deal. Can you scan any info about the deal and then just delete dealer, and your personal information so we can crunch the #'s for you. Good luck!

BTW (you prob. already know this)...but be careful with the mods that you do to the car. When you turn it back in on the lease and they see the modifications that you did, they will sometimes make you buy the entire car at the end of the term(what its worth at the time). Just something to think about. And i dont care what they may say, the STi is a great looking/ driving car man, congrats!!!

doing business with"family" like that is not always good. And it doesn't always mean you're getting a deal.
If you owned the trade in outright, then it sounds like your getting screwed.
You better know whats up before you sign on that dotted line.
And a bit of warning about a lease, NEVER go over your allowed mileage! they make you pay BIGTIME for excess miles, as well as wear & tear...

Well it turns out, my payments w/o the gap insurance was 386. I multiplied that by 48 and I got 27,000 give or take. So I am paying that much, and not even owning the car. Then the buyout is 14k after the lease, which would bring the total amount paid for the car up to about 41,000. Something fishy, but I am getting this worked out. I might just be better off financing this off, but this family deal seems to have bit me in the *** and I just have to get it settled because I have 72 hours or whatever it is. I will have to go there Monday after work.
