Well I just went and read the whole SD thread and there was allot of issues before but any good tuner can get the SD to run with no issues regardless of weather. I know rich does allot of his tuneing and logging but others are not always lucky and so the biggest issue I read was the cold start issue something you might have with E85 lol anyway but they have the ability to fix it now with a patch. So with your power and all I would think about it as it might be nice to have and drive with it more so then with a MAF and risk sucking the Honeycomb in as it has happened.

My car drove a ton better on SD over the maf, that and I didnt have to worry about sucking the honeycomb in like I did on my first maf.

Honeycomb can be easily removed. No need to switch to SD if his car drives fine as it is.

if you're not a self tuner then stock ecu sd isnt for you for the most part. your car will never run to its best ability unless you spend hours fine tuning the ve tables and tweaking it to perfection. ive tuned 3 guys so far that had been tuned on SD where their tune went to absolute crap to the point they could barely even drive their car.. but WOT was perfect. and these were tuned by the best in the scene. I will not mention names.

They all wanted switched back to maf and after we were finished they all said the maf was almost just as smooth as their sd tune when it was first initially done and they were shocked. take that however you want, but a well tuned maf will run just as smooth as speed density on the stock ecu for the most part. i dont use a honey comb, and ive been in aem sd evo's and stock ecu and my personal car was smoother.. now i dont know if thats because the clutches in the other evos were more aggressive or what, but im just speaking from experience.

As far as restrictions, go the SD will always make more power then MAF. typically 15-20whp on large setups.

Rocks goals arent unrealistic or anything, and he will pretty much be happy with whatever numbers JMS gives him, so i honestly dont think he would benefit from SD on stock ecu.

Hey ********..where in my post do I say I'm talking to you. All replys on this forum are not directed to you. Why don't you read few posts above yours talking about SD

Rock, do you plan on upgrading your axels? Not sure if it's needed, specially if this isn't going to be a drag car but just curious.

I am tuned on speed density. My car was tuned in april, ran perfect through the whole summer, and is now coming to winter and is still running great. No issues with the season change, and is a WHOLE lot smoother than the MAF. SD is something to consider, but if your tuner doesnt want to, or feel comfortable...than i would do what your tuner feels is better.

Can you remove it without getting a tune after?

tscompusa please state as your own opion its not a fact that all SD tunes will fail as GST said in the SD thread the evo community said 880cc Inj would be to be to big now what are we running 2100+ on E85 so its basiclly how comfortable your tuner is.

Well if thats what you want its all that matters also I understand that JMS is your tuner so you don't have access to them like I do to my tuner. The shop I work with is 20-25min away from my house. I was just thinking if you did then you could have 15-20hp for like 100 bucks and I dont want to hear about time as you have not had the car for months lol. Also Rock dont post again until we have pics and dyno charts lol.
