also all the misc parts like fluidampr pullies headgasket fuel system etc. your not getting under 17k unless you have alot of of used parts and doing labor yourself etc. some of use dont want certain parts used example turbo etc.
yes you can get under 20k its highly possible for sure but you will be above 13k is my point. there are plenty parts you can skip out on for sure like built tranny tc etc. also your total adventure is over 20k boss hence me saying also things could happen that cause you to spend more money. you alone have had two different built motors i know of then all the headaces you have going on with current build so again your not out scott free

yes your right it can be done under 20k i agree with you there but the key is everything has to go correctly no issues with parts shops tuning etc. very rare with things gel together for go around either way you look at it its not a cheap endevour and you have to be willing to throw several thousands down the drain if you can stomach that then your golden
Yes, and I didnt spare any $$ in any part of the build. The only things left for me to upgrade powerwise would be tubular exh mani, o2 dump... and thats about it. But I rebuilt the clutch twice, rebuilt the motor 3 times, and have had numerous costs time and time again because shops that supposedly know what they are doing, leave things unfinished, or not done up to parr, causing failures, etc.

Manley Turbo Tuff's
Mahle custom pistons
Power coat the block
Port and Polish
Valve job
Ferea Dual valve springs/retainers
Ferea Oversize valves
Balance the entire assembly
All that together is about 5650
Add Balance shaft elim for 400 timing belt/water pump for another 300 bux
I could've had my car running for about 8000 including tuning.
But I wanted more and things started to add up. i would say I'll be at about 13-14k with tuning by the time everything is done.

I already upgraded my drivetrain (built TC, tranny and triple) and fuel system so my car was kinda primed for this I guess. If you add all that I can see it costing up to 20k.

ok smurfzilla and others you have to add everything not just the longblock. drivetrain all basic bolt ons turbo kit fuel system guages tuning cusumables etc you will be over 10k period unless you got alot of used **** and some things you just dont skimp out on.
some people spend big bucks cause they can, i am well under the 20K mark and will probally put some great times down this year with a brand new everything. i honestly after reading his posts that sometimes he over pays but if he can swing the bucks who cares honestly
