after burning through ball joint boots every season, i've finally got around to making some heat shields. i used some aluminum sheets i had laying around. the AMS back plate for the brake duct is a convenient place to mount the heat shield.

use any two recording device and merge the video with RaceRender. you can also merge obd2 data and gps data from lap timer. i use Trackmaster lap timer on android phone.

the car was making humming noise during right hand turns. i figured it must be the wheel bearings since most tracks i go to are counter clockwise. i replaced the two fronts first since i thought they have the most load on them. after replacing the two front bearings, the noise was still there. so i replaced the rear bearings and the noise is gone.

That wheel bearing in the second to last pic was toast. Lucky that a bad noise was the only problem.

Yeah. All the grease burned out. I ran about 8 track days after I started to hear the noise faintly and it got louder after each event.

My favorite thread on evom. Just found this. Love the clean and thoughtful build. I just completed my first NASA track event and plan to track the car at several events. I PM'd or emailed you. I am sure I will upgrade worn out parts as I go similar to how you did. Thx!

The FA 510 coilovers are great. Custom valved for 12k/14k springs. The car never felt better. I have a lot of confident to use a lot of curbs on track and the car would not get too unsettled. I've set several track records with NASA and NARRA on them this years. Street driving is not too bad either. But i don't mind stiff suspension. I actually just shipped them back to FA yesterday to get 2 ways and canisters upgrade. Can't wait to try them out in three weeks when I come back from vacation.
