after moving the oil cooler to the front, now i can cover up the front side duct for better aero.

 

installed whiteline front sway bars while the tranny was sent to TRE for rebuild. also replace the boots for whiteline RCK.

 

make a heat shield for your boot while you've got it apart. That's 1 part that I need to make.

 

i had same issues with my s2k ball joint boot. i used fiber glass heat wrap and it worked good. might do the same thing here. those boots are cheap enough to replace every season if need to though, they were $15 + shipping for the set.

 

Absolutely love the build, man. Can't wait to finish my car and get some seat time.

i picked up these RB stainless pistons and seals from my sponsor.

OE 46mm pistons = 0.18 lbs, RB SS = 0.225 lbs; .045 difference
OE 40mm pistons = 0.14 lbs, RB SS = 0.19 lbs; .05 difference

that's a total of 0.19 lbs (1/5 lbs) difference for all four pistons for one caliper.






oem dust seals all burned and cracked


opening up the calipers


caliper split in half


oem pistons next to stainless pistons


use compress air at the bride port and a used pad underneath to prevent one piston from coming out complete and not allow the other one to come out.


remove the oem dust seals


remove oem piston seals


clean out caliper


new stainless pistons and dust seals ready to go in


lubricate the pistons with some brake fluid so they slid in easy


all four pistons are in and ready for reassemble
