i like your goals sir. goodluck with everything and i hope to see this hit the 9's. it will be an unbelieveable achievement and i hope it will be yours.
interesting choice with the s3's: being a stock 9 turbo, how much more rpm will the powerband shift up with such a gangsta cam?
i ask this because ive got a 6 speed and im crossing the line changing into 5th which is gay(stock 8 turbo 9.8hs). i start to drop power after 7k and i know i can raise the limiter to 8500(knowing that ill make no power after 7k) to cross without changing, so ive been looking at the gsc s2's and was wondering if it will alow my car to make more power after 7k. or wont it matter cause its such a **** weak turbo?

Thanks, i really appreciate the support and am going to try my best to achieve this goal. I believe the S3 cams are my best choice for me and my goals. For any stock turbo car these cams really are overkill and will probably make you lose power, as you'll sacrifice tq down loan for gains up top. In theory these will help me especially with all the parts of my build that come in to play and the higher compression i will be running (another hint for the part i haven't told to everyone yet). Here is a post with a graph by English Racing who showed this to me and which i think might help answer some of your questions. If not i can explain further if you like! Thanks again for the data English!

After tracking down the original test car's dyno sheet I present the pros and cons of a S3 camshaft set on a stock turbo instead of S2s-

Pumpgas only in these tests-

Sacrifices are 25-40 ft lbs before 6500 vs the S2s but as much as 40whp above 7,000. In the S2 dyno sheet it maintains fairly flat power from 5700 to 7000 where the S3s are a little more peaky. As I recall I was getting a fair amount of phantom knock in the S3 tests but I never really had a concrete reason why. With the reduction in flow at low rpm I may have been able to run the timing up higher than normal to get some of the torque back but I again, the test was long enough ago I dont remember if I tried nor do I have the logs to see.

In the world of drag racing where high RPM power is king the S3s might be what is in order. On the street they would be less fun than S2s in my opinion. For what GGevo921 is after, I would have to think the S3s might be the ticket.

People who say the stock 9 turbo is weak should read this thread. Lots of untapped potential.

Thanks mate that answered everything.
Amazing how in the context of s3 cam testing the s2 cams are made out to be like stock cams in comparieon when really they are actually a pretty big cam for a stocker. If anything it makes me want them even more now lol.
Cheers

Thanks bro. 9 turbo def isn't weak you just have to work a little harder than slapping on a bigger turbo to make power! Def a lot of potential and I'm trying to find its limits!

[QUOTE=GGevo921;10071244]SMALL UPDATEJust a small update for everyone, there has been some progress on the car, and i will have some more pictures shortly but for now here is just a small update on parts that have come in recently and a hint of things to come. Few things arrived today such as a harness bar and racing harness, Id also like to give a big thank you to Jeremy @ Sierra Motorsports for the 20mm spacers so i can run my rota slipstreams and m/t drag slick wheel combo as well as for the air filter for the turbo for street driving, so we can do testing and not worry about sucking up any rocks or anything. Thanks again Jeremy glad to have you on board! My giant Toxicfab stickers came in as well which will be going on the car once i finish the build and detail it. To dusty right now. But these things are like 5ft long. Cant thank Collin and ToxicFab enough and im proud to have their name on the side of BeerCan. I have named the car beer can after my father has called my car a BeerCan or noise maker countless times because its a ricer, so i have now embraced it and named her BeerCan Lol. Onto the pics

MINI UPDATESo it has been awhile since i posted anything on the build and figure id share a few things that have come along with the car. Been busy with school and work which has slowed my progress down. Anyway the car has now had the engine bay cleaned up and wire tucking and rerouting will begin tom finally! However i cleaned the whole engine bay using brake cleaner and a few other shop cleaners we have for detailing. I Removed the Front Sway bar, got a little irritated that day so i decided to have fun and cut it out! Don't need it ever again and it relieved some stress lol. And last but not least my ToxicFab Race FMIC showed up today and i wanted to share some more detailed pics for everyone to see! Thanks again Collin, once again you exceeded my expectations. Also did the clutch restrictor pill removal which was already done, but good to know, as well as got the radiator mounted up finally. And lastly there have been some delays on a major upgrade im waiting to get back to finish rebuilding the car but we plan to be racing as of June so stay tuned as she is about to be finished fast! Stay tuned for more updates.

Stress Reliever LOL
