Veryyyy very nice fabbin' on the manifold! The back pressure the bend creates would likely increase off boost throttle response, decreasing the amount of throttle you would need to get into usable boost.

All that aside, you've given me the itch to get outside and start gettin' all my fabrication started on my Galant VR-2 as i like to call her lol. My 2 GT28rs's have just been sitting in the packages for about 2 months now, but even tho it's cold i think i'm going to suck it up and get my twins mounted up. And hopefully it turns out as sexy as your pipe **** you got going on!

Any tuning numbers yet? I assume if not your still trying to get the fuel system issue resolved. But your fabrication looks top notch and your power gains and your power curve should be rad after the tuning since this is quite a nice upgrade as far as usable power bands go and good hp and torque gains.

GL! Can't wait to see the numbers.

I'll have to assume you just don't know any different, and that's quite alright, however this header will not/does not increase any time needed to spool compared to other 3582R setups.

I had to go look up the CBRD piece since I don't personally follow Evo stuff that well. That was a nicely done system on that car for certain. I can see where you would pick up the similarities between these two cars in principal, but they are still very different in actual placement, obviously.

I've been trying to find pictures of the T1 system someone mentioned that was in Dsport mag. I haven't had much luck with that though. I would enjoy seeing it!

It reminded me of CBRD's F1 style header as well. /\/\/\ Wasnt that a forward facing turbo unit though?

There are always compromises in location affecting one thing or the other or more than one thing :-)..There aint that much room in the EVO engine bay LOL

The sharp bend into the hotside is the only item i see that may affect all the other great work. That's a tight 180 bend and will create backpressure. Hopefully it wont affect things much though.

That is one nice collector BTW ...is it a Burns item?

What size and length primaries are those? They look pretty much equal length. The merged pipe to the hotside is what size?

Looking forward to seeing spool and dyno data plots

Thanks for sharing !!!
Compared to a lot of cars I've dealt with, there was plenty of room in this engine bay!

I respectfully diasgree on your thought of increased backpressure due to the secondary runner on the header. I've done many systems using this method and when done correctly, there are no adverse effects on spool, power, or backpressure overall. Not to mention there are several gains to it that make it well worth it.

I'll take it as a compliment (about Burns!), but I handmade the collector out of 1 7/8" tubing, so it acts as a slip fit setup for the 1 3/4" pirmaries. They are fully welded to the collector upon completion, and from there it is a 2 1/4" secondary section.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I am, and thanks! I'm in Osprey, FL. Just south of Sarasota.

What were you expecting? Another forward facing manifold?

The proof is in the graph's. I'd like to see those please.

Update:
Well today my rc 1000cc showed up and my new uego sensor when out and started tuning on the car. Runs good got it up to 18psi at 4100 rpm full boost(pumpgas). After this started have touble controlling boost so I will need to over look my vacuum lines and w/g diapham and make sure its in working order. So hopefull have this thing on a dyno for you guys to see the numbers.

Question: How far do guys run on stock fpr and rail, and also hor much hp and tq with balance shafts still in?

AMotion - You're Timmy's brother right? I'm good friends with him up here in MI.

Good work! Can't wait to see how the car performs!

Just to be clinical about it, it was 4280rpm that we were seeing the gate open at 18 psi during a fourth gear pull. 3840rpm in a 5th gear pull. There's room in the tune to provoke it to spool faster yet, but we're concerned with having it try to make too much torque too quickly.

This is a 2.0L, 6 speed swapped car.

im with this guy, while this is a very pretty manifold it looks like a waste of fabrication time for little/no advantage to whats already on the market. people always like to say that the long runners dont affect spool up, but every time i see one of these they always spool slower then the short manifolds. i dont see any of the fastest evos in the world running a manifold like this.

great fab work, but until i see some graphs showing improved spool/low end tq its just bling bling.

Some people don't want what everyone else has.

There will be a "graph" for people to interpret as they please when the car runs as solidly as we feel it should. Per a little jaunt earlier today, I think that time is pretty close. But as much as this forum will likely uprise against me for saying it, a virtual dyno graph is just that... virtual.

And, really? AMS tends to build some pretty quick stuff ...
