Krack, nice update.

Is that a MAP fabricated manifold, or a rebadged TiTek?

MAP does not fabricate the short-runner in-house. There are multiple companies rebadging it, but MAP backs it up with a lifetime warranty against cracking, offers coating, makes an array of heatshields, plus prices it very competitively.

Which are all the things that I love that they do with this product! However, I also think very highly of their porting services as well!

As do I, and I currently have a ported/coated ex mani on the car, but you can't argue with their dyno testing results thread

Cool journal Kracka, it is very well documented!

I just have a random question. Why do you say that X's don't do well with certain intakes with the A/C on? What exactly do you mean by this?

An intake that isn't properly designed will see turbulence at the MAF from the A/C fan. Turbulence at the MAF will lead to an unstable idle/stalling condition. The AFE intake that I run is still far and away my favorite intake design for the X, followed probably by the K&N. The filters are in the correct spot, the stock MAF housing is retained, along with nice large heatshields that utilize the factory air scoop.

Unfortunately, I may be needing to upgrade to a larger (3") intake fairly soon since I'm currently hitting the max 5v in the stock MAF housing on really long high-gear high-RPM pulls. I'm thinking I may actually custom fabricate a 3" elbow to replace the 2.75" AFE tube and stock MAF housing rather than buying something from off the shelf.

MAP did make it, and I plan to run a gasket on either side of it. Or maybe it will act like a gasket itself? I'm not sure yet to be honest.

had to ask did you go with the AFE dry or Oiled filter, i understand the pro's and cons and was interested in your thoughts.
