Usually that will be coolant when you loose a HG. Sounds like you have a plan though to get it all sorted out.

alright, finnally keeping the oil where it belongs. the leak was coming from one of the access ports to the balence shaft oil jurnols. there are 2 bolts/screws that seal these ports on the rear of the motor. well in my case one of them backed out and had my car leaking oil at an alarming rate. (insane amount of mobil 1 15/50 wasted. ) now all sealed up. and the car is running great. waiting to get my O2 dump to atmosphere and retune and we should be back in the game.

You port the O2 housing you have in the mean time to see if it lowered the boost?

i have not due to it being a PITA to get at in this weather(16*+wind chill) my garage is again occupied by the 93 mirage (rage) doing his build after spinning a bearing. next week i am having a local shop (Zury Fabrications) build my O2 dump to atmosphere.
i am playing with the idea of having him put a 60mm external wastegate on my test pipe to act as a cut out. that said, do you think it will provide any gains as far as freeing up my exhaust?

i just wanna take a moment to just explain how much i love the streets in washington DC, while down town last week i clipped a pot hole pretty hard got out and inspected the damage, it didn't seem so bad..... about 20 min on the highway i started to here a slight momentary dragging sound. thinking it is probably the FMIC mesh grill i wasn't concerned then i was about 1/2 a mile from my buddies house and started hearing a HORRIFIC dragging sound stopped at his house and my bumper was face down under the front end almost to the wheels. needless to say it was completely destroyed. fortunately for me a buddy in CCEVO ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Capit...ref=ts&fref=ts ) just got his IX bumper and was selling his stock bumper so i picked it up pics coming soon.

Seems like it's coming around a lot from when I first started reading this. Good job! Sucks to hear about all of your problems but hey that's part of the fun.

I took the same chunk out of my #2 piston and messed up some valves about a year ago so I decided to go with a full build. It's been a long wait being in the military and having little time to go home but it is so worth it and hopefully I'll have her running by the end of the month.

Good luck with everything

That's good, and on this set-up with a stock turbo I'd be happy to get 450 to the wheels. Money has run tight on this build for a bigger turbo kit but I'll be happy just to have it on the road again.

UPDATE : So, i attened IFO(import face off) at capital raceway over the weekend. Made power and had the trap speed but couldn't get the car to hook at all. i blame poor track prep and street tires. but i ran a best of 12.4@120 mph i'll put the pics up later.

now for the bad news. I checked the oil before going and at the track prior to leaving since my car has a history with losing lubricant. both times oil level checks good, oil PSI right where it should be. i drive home, change run to work. car sat in the lot at work ALL NIGHT (low temps that night) i get off go to start it at 0500 in the morning. starts fine but the OIL Psi gauge reads 0??? i get out and listen to the motor.... sounds fine. (hindsight: should have checked oil) i thought to my self maybe all the launches shook the wire loose. no CEL/OIL LIGHT.... drove home babying it (10 min commute) the next day my crew cheif and engineer looked over the car and checked the oil, dip stick DRY!!!!! we don't know what damage was done, filled it with oil, it cranks doesn't turn over and the crank turns with a 1/2 drive on it so its not locked up. we are pulling the oil pan off to inspect for damage. so pissed.

THE CAUSE: the 90* fitting we used to mount the innovate Oil Psi Sensor failed leaking and when we tried to tighten it it fell off into my hands.... so again we have work infront of us.

on a lighter note, we are going to revise the current turbo set up. going with a V band exhaust and a external gate. using this turbine housing http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=GTHand a new manifold. also replacing the suspension because that may have been part of the reason the fitting was damaged, the streets in my hood are being destoryed due to construction in the area. thats all i can think of for now. update to follow once we see how bad this is !

update 27APR13: so while on vacation to michigan i stumbled across a 1990 Talon TSi AWD for sale for 1300, it was in pretty bad shape but the turbo built boost and it drove so i offered him 800$ and i got the car. so i plan to restore it and make around 300hp with a little 16g turbo and DD the hell out of this thing a reserve the evo for time when i need a sedan or in nice weather track days events etc..... on to the pics

UPDATE: 04JULY13
got the head off the evo , installing BC 280 cams & new head came with supertech dual valve springs. found stock suspension for sale for the right price so once it arrives i will no longer have to deal with the slammed stanced situation that almost cost me my engine. eventully i will upgrade the suspension but for now OEM will do the job. also recieved my JDM bumper and will be sending it to UCS performance to get paint. ordered and recieved a Varis JDM CF heat shield for the new bumper as well, a friend as me if i like the JDM bumper i said yes and he asked why wasn't going to protect it from the after burner that is my muffler i might have this thing back on the road in the next few days.
