Evodan2004 has lost his mind part 3. The new changes and goals for 2013.
i went to advanced autoparts. they have a product called bondo ''i forget the model'' which states it is used for small dents, paint chips, pin holes, and dings. it was 25 bucks. is that stuff ok or should i stick with the Metal Glaze. i will have to order it online which i do not care if i have to do that i just want the right stuff
here you go .. you might have already done this...but here is my first version drilled and modified alternator bracket

I m going to bend up some aluminum for the next one ..
enjoy if you haven't done it

Yes I did that. I just cut off the tab that was not needed bcause the other part of that bracket is gone. Drilling holes is a great idea though.
got one more for you , the grounding cable that goes to the transmission from the battery, that can be removed, and then ground the starter to the front radiator core support,
Basically the weight saving is going from 3 feet of 4 gauge wire to 6 inches of 4 gauge wire

Like wheatley said, get the metal glaze Dan. I use this stuff called icing, its the same thing as metal glaze, just different brand. The metal glaze and icings you can sand with fine sandpaper. Its very easy to sand, sands down quick and finishes off very smooth for a coat of primer surfacer. You will be thanking us when you start to sand in an engine compartment lol.

also i have 1/4 plate 6061 aluminum here. spare from the seat bases. if that alt bracket can be made straight i can cut a piece of the aluminum plate and make my own. if this works i will make a few. my engine is out so as long as i do not forget i will see if i can make it straight.
or maybe ill have one CNC'ed. nice round corners and stuff.

ok guys. here is the next step. i pushed the car outside and power washed the engine bay. here is some before and afters. i am so happy how it came out so far. i did not expect it to be so clean. i did scrub the crap out of it though. i blew it off with the air tool and pushed it back in side where i will let it dry for a few days.

and after

That thing looks so good, id be tempted whether to paint it now or not haha!!
Although, painted by with clear coat always makes a huge improvement. have you started scuffing it yet?
if not, get busy with a red scotchbrite pad. haha

Thanks guys. I am really greatful for all the help. It is coming out great so far. Yea it looks great. I did not start scuffing yet but I have 20 red scotch pads and 10 gray "softer" pads. I am going to start scuffing it up tomorrow. This will take me a while.because I want to concentrate on making it smooth. Once that is done I will rinse it off and let it dry for a while. I also have to wait for the metal glaze to show up. So after the main scuffing is over I will apply the glaze and then smooth those areas off.
