Haven't posted an update in a while but have been making a fair share of progress. Decided to change the hot parts setup and go vband in and out with a hood dump.

 

Subframe was completed and powdered and installed.

 

Shutters came in and are now installed with quick latch connectors on bumper.

 

Fellow evom member sold me a sick 4 inch exhaust, it arrived and was halfway installed to get ready for a last minute engine build. I decided that chasing the record just was not worth the risk of damaging other components than the engine. Picked up a set of ams spec drop ins and BME aluminum rods.

 

Today i removed the oem pistons and rods and was relieved after seeing how bad things could've been. Number 1 ring land was cracked in two spots and when i grabbed it and moved it the ring land fell out. The block bores are still in great shape and after checking with a bore gage are good. I did a touch hone today and was able to install the number one piston and rod assembly.

My head will be finished tomorrow.

super tech exhaust valves and ferrea intakes.

Head will get bolted on Monday or Tuesday and the 02 housing will get fabbed along with the fmic mount and licp. Front bumper lip will be done also. Then she comes home to finish the little things I have to button up before she comes alive. I think I'm about 2 weeks out give or take a little due to work/school/family obligagions.

 

I am jealous of that tubular front end. I need a piece like that on my Evo.
