I have a set of Girodisc seals to try if these leak.

Hey Don

The word on the street is: Many have tried to fit 17's but there is approx zero clearance between the wheel barrel & the caliper

So basically, NO. The X caliper will not fit 17's.

Willwood has a nice set of 6 pot calipers for 17's

X calipers do not fit 17's. Wilwood is not a recommended brake caliper for real world use. They just aren't that great. Essex Parts sells a kit with an AP racing 4 piston caliper that fits 17" wheels, and Racing Brake also has a brake kit that fits 17's.

As usual, life gets in the way projects get relegated to way less time then needed lol. Worked a lot this past week, and went and had fun all day yesterday instead of working on the car. So, today, rebuild rear calipers, installed, and bled the brakes. Multiple 30 second long 2 footed pressure holds on the brakes showed no signs of leakage.

I just got done with the Zeitronix ECA install, and have it wired in for flex fuel. Just did final function test before tidying up all the wiring and mounting the control box.

Yes, the ECA gauge is a little crooked. No, I don't really care lol

That gauge haunts the OCD amongst us hahaha. One of the best choices i've made was going from slotted rotors back to blanks. Super worth it! One day we will all need to switch to a flex fuel setup as more E85 stations lower their ethanol %. We have been lucky with Propel Fuel thus far in Socal

ER has the flex fuel pretty well figured out. I'm excited to be able to just go fill the car up and not worry about testing fuel, or whether or not I'll make it to the "nearest" E85 station. Especially since only 4-5 station in Vegas even have it anymore, and the content seems to vary greatly each time they restock. And there was a point where no one had any E for about a month...lol

Started the short block today. Cleaned the shop up a bit, and spent about 2hrs measuring and setting main bearing clearance. Used standard shells on the block side, and +.001" clearance shells on the girdle to get where I wanted. All standard was too tight. Also had to then switch the shells between 2 and 3 as 2 was a little tight and 3 was a little loose. So, in total, I had the girdle on then off again 4 times...lol. But the clearances are right where I wanted them. Tomorrow, rod bearing clearance, ring gap, and verify PTW. Then clean, final assembly, check rod side clearance and crankshaft thrust. I'll be sure to get pics.
