It's cheap and easy to start with...
I have a canton full flow cartridge filter, don't even have to do that. It's one of the things I'll be doing tonight.

Recap of tonight-

Pulled filter, all good.

Installed 2 NEW unused and bled down lifters. Had my dad crank the motor over so I could see if oil came out of the bleed holes in the end of the lifter feed galley's. LOTS of oil came out. Then I got excited because those lifters were pumped up. Put it back together and fired it up. Tapping immediately. Let it run a few minutes, have it some rpm, didn't clear up. Pulled valve cover back off, those two lifters were collapsed.

Installed two known good OEM lifters, those didn't pump up.

So, I have food oil flow, but something weird is going on.

Dang dude, this is a weird one. I've never heard of only a couple lifters collapsing. Something has to be blocking flow there which means probably needs to back purge those oil ports and hope you clear something out. Have you called up ER to see if they've seen this yet?

Talked to them this morning. Can see in the lifter bore, those lifters are getting oil. Nothing blocking anything. The "port" created by the galley intersecting the lifter bore is large.

And the bleed ports at the end of the galleys the supply the lifters create quite the fountain of oil. Also took apart the Kiggly HLA, it's fine.

So stupid thought, could there be a bad lifter in there thats letting too much oil through bleeding off your pressure? Just spitballing obsurd ideas cause this is that kind of problem (feel free to tell me to go away, I assume figuring this out at this point is a bit stressful)

Lol, ideas are welcome at this point. I don't have another full set of lifters to try. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna switch the lifters that aren't pumping up with ones that have been fine. And see if the problem stays where it is or whatever happens lmao. This makes no sense to be honest..

Compress your valve springs to check if the valves are seized in the guides.

They're not. I watched them open when we were crank it without the valve cover on.

I hate to even ask this..., but piston to valve clearance was good?

I just noticed your cam caps are different from mine. 6-4 are exhaust cam caps on my head. I can't see your tiny labels to verify your 6-3 is E-2, E-3, E-4, or E-5.

The cam caps are correct. I verified that. Also, the cams don't turn if you mismatch caps.

Anyways, I think I fixed. Went rage in it this morning, just held it at like 3500rpm until oil was up to 180ish (15 minutes or so...lol). Let it idle, seems fixed. Back to normal 4g valvetrain clatter. May a slight tick from that area, but it's quieter than the stock head was with GSC S2's and springs.

It was only one at first. Not sure. Possibly a bad one? But I found no issues other than the collapsed lifter. So I'm just gonna send it...
