Regarding your question about manuals, check Evoscan.

Engine shop is done. They honed cylinders, machined the block surface, machined crank journals under size, balanced the rotating assembly, machined flywheel, checked the piston and bearing clearances and machined the off set weights off the oil pump balance shaft to create my version of many performance shops "race shaft"

I cleaned out the block and painted it. I have also spun the two balance shaft bearings and cleaned up a few bolts. Next is to replace the frost plugs

Got crank bolted in today, got .05mm of oil clearance on the mains and .1mm of crank end play. Bolted down to 80nm. Next job is to assemble pistons and rods and then bolt them to the crank.

Today i checked my ring end gaps and here are the results. I would welcome any feed back on if i have them to tight, loose or about right form you experts.

Wiseco specs:

Top Ring: 0.4mm/ .015"
2nd Ring: 0.5mm/ .019"

My results

Cylinder 1
Top Ring: .35mm/ .013"
Second Ring: .65mm/ .025"

Cylinder 2
Top Ring: .4mm/ .015"
Second Ring: .55mm/ .021"

Cylinder 3
Top Ring: .35mm/ .013"
Second Ring: .5mm/ .019"

Cylinder 4
Top Ring: .35mm/ .013"
Second Ring: .65mm/ .025"

Again any thoughts on these results would be great.

I would run .023 top and .025 second. huge mistake to run tight gaps. loose gaps produce better ring seal.

Over the last few days I have been assembling the pistons, rods, rings and big end bearings and installing them while checking the oil clearance and the thrust clearance on the rod ends.

I got really lucky today sort of. When I torqued up the big end caps to 60nm it just felt a bit loose and i thought nothing of it really but I just had this slight nagging feeling from time to time so i checked the calibration of the wrench with a digital unit that a friend has and we found out that the adjuster inside the torque wrench had worked its self loose and was reading about 35nm low. I got it sorted all out and then retorqued the bigends and mains.
