For anyone that's been following this, I'm starting the ball rolling in getting the car sold. I'm posting here because anyone that's read any of this thread already knows the history of the car, which saves me a ton of explanation, convincing, etc.

I expect to have my other car sold within the next 7-10 days, so would like to have things lined up to let the Evo go, before I change my mind. Updates to the car since my last post here:

I got rid of the 18x10.5 PF01s in favor of much lighter and better-to-fit-my-tires 18x10 RPFs. I saved about 4.5lbs per corner, which is really nice. I did an autox event can definitely feel the difference. The car is running ST43 brake pads all the way around. Not sure if that's new or not. I have a fire extinguisher that needs to be mounted. It's one of those smaller flare-type units. I have a strap mounted behind the driver's seat and a two-pin weatherpak connector for the cool-shirt system I made, in case anyone decides to do the same. I think that's about it.

Where I'm stuck: The clutch finally gave way after much abuse by me (trailer loading incident ). The car an not be launched nor accelerate in upper gears on the freeway. I plan to have an asking price for the car with a discount for anyone willing to replace the clutch themselves. We'll see how it goes.

So... anyone interested? Everyone is telling me to start pricing at $30k, but I'm thinking more like $27k considering the new (OEM from Mitsu) shortblock (less than 3k miles), drivetrain (Shep trans with custom ratios with approx 1k miles), CF drive shaft, X brakes, FlexFuel, etc, etc.

Update.

First off:
Where I'm stuck: The clutch finally gave way after much abuse by me (trailer loading incident ). The car an not be launched nor accelerate in upper gears on the freeway. I plan to have an asking price for the car with a discount for anyone willing to replace the clutch themselves. We'll see how it goes.

Turns out the clutch was fine! :WOOT: See below..

July 31, 2022: Took the car back to Laguna Seca for some vindication. Last time it was there, it had an open rear diff, a bad 4th gear synchro, and 235 R-S4 tires. It sure was fun keeping up with $250,000 cars From my Facebook post:

I almost forgot that I had video from last weekend. Here's a GT2rs and C8 Corvette trying to catch me (they got really close on the main straight and in turn 11 under traffic, but couldn't keep up the rest of the way):

Here's in car video after I let off for a cool-down lap, but then decided a chase was more fun.... then a PB attempt, then a bit of what was in the pit area. Best time was a 1:39.999 with a slight let off for traffic. That's good enough for me:

Now to decide if it's time to sell or not....

Well done Kaj.

Yeah the Corvette & Porsche had about enough of ya ******* them lap after lap

Proper paddock driving, slow & cool down afterwards

Making us EvO owners proud out there! (vid quality seemed good but just a bit jiggly?)

See that's me in Gran Turismo 7...albeit with a lot less dirt and wall crashing.

Love Laguna Seca but that corkscrew is a bish!

It's my phone attached to a magnetic mount, so all the Geeeee forces cause it to move.
or
It's my "camera movement" filter to make it feel like you're there.
or
I'm too cheap to make an actual camera mount.

You drive like an animal Kaj so a proper mount is needed lol. Was using this when tracking (still in there today)

No doubt many camera mounts out there to choose from

I wanted to mount it far enough ahead that it wasn't affected by interior lighting and also to get a full picture. RAM mounts are a bit bulky and blocked my vision. I *think* the magnet is weakening. It's been three or four years. Maybe it's time to replace. It didn't used to move quite that much. Lol

Sell and get what? A super 'spensive car you get scared to pass with like the Porsche guy? Still only thing I MIGHT consider is GR 'Rolla(do we call it that or what?) otherwise what's the point? Blah blah Supra, sat in one and not for me and I'm not even a giant.
Also, dang that looks fun and you DO drive like an animal!

I've done what I can with the Evo without modding it further. I don't really want to do that.
I have a Supra to develop. It was just as fun, though slower.
I just think it's time.

Well, she's finally for sale. Here is the for sale thread:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/market/764070
Here are the details:

Doing what it does best:
https://youtu.be/roREPeSfres2006 Evo 9MR. 430whp/350wtq on e85 and 350whp/???wtq on 91oct. **Flexfuel**

For reference, the car did a 1'56".xxx at Buttonwillow Raceway Park CW13 and won the SM championship for my local SCCA AutoX group, for 2021.

5spd.

Clean Title. Pink slip in hand. Currently registered in Montana. Car comes with ALL OEM parts needed for registration in all 50 states. Willing to work with buyer to get OEM ROM from local Mitsu dealership to legally pass smog in CA.

Body has right around 140k miles. All else has been replaced. Car is brought out of the garage for HPDE and autox only. Even on HPDE days, I treat the car like a time attack car, so it only does about 3-4 laps per session, and I only do three sessions. I’ve been focused on PBs, not so much on seat time, so that’s why. The car is tuned to beat on day in and day out, which is the reason it doesn’t make eleventy billion whp. You probably won’t win any drag races with it.

The car makes no weird noises.

The front bumper cover and hood has been resprayed due to rock chips. The driver, front fender has also been resprayed due to a spot of peeling paint that I couldn’t stand.

Front bumper has a slot cut in it in case you want to run a tow strap to the crash beam instead of popping the hood to use the strut tower hook.

I’ll add more info as I remember. I’ve owned the car for 7yrs and have done so much, I know I’m forgetting lots.

Exterior:

Strut mount tow hook

OEM window rain guards

CIRO wing
APR wing (not attached)
OEM wing (not attached)

Stubby antenna

Seibon dry carbon trunk (not currently on car)

Rear fenders rolled/pulled to fit 10.5 +38 wheels and 275 tire. Not sure what else will fit, given the SSB rear trailing arms.

Rear wiper removed (included)

New-ish windshield glass

Respray on front bumper cover

Respray on driver front fender (old paint was peeling)

Brand new 18x10 RPF with 275 Nitto NT01 with a few track days left in them.

18x9 XXR something or other. Not sure the model wheel, bronze with brand new Dunlop Direzzas (see pictures)

JDM rear bumper cover with race car scuffs

Engine:

OEM shortblock from Mitsubishi installed in 2017. Approx 1200 miles

GSC S1 cams, springs, and OEM retainers

Kiggly HLA

Blitz FMIC

Injen LICP

Internally and externally coated OEM exhaust manifold

FP HTA 71 turbo with coated hot side.

FP inline feed line filter and steel braided lines (from OFH)

FP silicone intake

Blox air filter

Custom 6.5qt oil pan with internal hinges and oil temp sensor bung.

Titek O2 housing

Unknown 3” downpipe

Unknown resonated 3” test pipe

Unknown 3” exhaust with resonator and Magnaflow straight-through 3” muffler. Works great, sounds awesome, super stealthy.

FIC 1050cc low-z injectors, cleaned/tested by FIC on 6/2021. Car will come with FIC high Z 1200cc fuel injectors, that have been cleaned and tested, a resister box plug, and IAT sensor; full SD conversion kit.

Walbro 255

Front engine roll stop bushing

Evans waterless coolant

AMS (?) crank scraper

Fluidampner crank pulley

Rear balance shaft disconnected

Front stubby balance shaft.

OEM alternator replaced 01/2017

Setrab oil cooler with fan.

Drivetrain:

Shep Evo 8 5spd trans with custom gearing (1-2 was too big of a jump, so mix/matched 8 and 9 gears to close the gap). Approx. 700 miles on build.

Brand new ACT HDSS clutch, monoloc, PP and OEM TOB, still in box.

All new Redline oil/trans fluid/TC fluid/rear diff fluids/oil filter/0-rings/seals awaiting clutch install.

DSS 2-piece carbon fiber drive shaft

TRE rear diff will all bells and whistles approx 500 miles on build. Probably less.

English Racing ACD tune

Braking:

Evo X MR front brake rotors and calipers (adapters included to go back to 8/9 calipers)

Girodisc 2-pice rear rotors

ST43 brake pads all around.

Suspension:

AST 4100 coilovers 9k/11k rates

Perrin PSRS

SSB rear trailing arms

Front stainless tie rod end and ball joint heat shields with gold tape.

Custom sway bar end links with carbon fiber bushings.

Poly bushings everywhere that isn’t spherical.

Robispec 25mm RSB

Vorshlag camber plates

Binary 2” brake cooling ducts (not installed) and tubing (not installed, new in packaging).

Interior/safety:

Sparco Evo US driver seat

Racequip 2” HANS compatible 5-pt harness

Driver side OEM seatbelt.

Evo 8 passenger seat

Schroth asm passenger harness

Passenger side OEM seat belt.

Fire extinguisher

Roll bar to SCCA and NASA specs.

Alcantara wrapped OEM steering wheel

Wideband gauge in place of “Lancer” spot in gauge cluster

E85 gauge in glove box.

All airbags functioning.

3” riser on shifter.

Switch and harness installed for Cool Shirt setup.

Autometer oil temp/oil pressure/boost gauges.

Tactrix 1.3 cable

Wideband sensor serial to USB output cable

Relayed power cord and anchoring strap for cool-shirt system.

Random bits:

To scale splitter template from Professional Awesome to cut your own plywood splitter. Shows cut/mount/diffuser/etc mount points.

A garage full of mostly OEM parts. From coils to sensors. Will come with OEM fuel injectors, down pipe, catalytic converter, and exhaust. See pictures Full interior with VIII rear seats are in storage and will come with the car. I have every nut/bolt/clip/etc for the interior.

Stereo is Pioneer BT/CD/external source deck. I’ve been using an iPod in the glove box. Brand new Focal speakers in the doors.

None of the wiring harnesses in the car have been altered/cut/modified. The car 100% passes smog in CA with the parts put back on and stock tune in place (I do not have a stock tune but can get one).

I’m probably still forgetting some things. I’ll update as I remember.

Greetings,

I am interested in your track prepped Evo. I am in Sacramento. Own a 2005 Evo 8 since new, do not track it any more, mostly stock now. C7 Corvette has been my most recent track and autox car, but looking for a suitable Evo with the right safety equipment and mods. Not sure how to contact you?

Thanks,

Mark
