I'm having a hard time connecting to the evo at the minute to use ecu flash. I have a mitsi in pin 79 . I do read some where about connecting a wire to the back of the obd port for flashing ? Heard this has been done with a blue vag cable .

Got the new engine and gearbox mounts fitted today from torque solutions . Been waiting ages to fit these and I can confirm that they are from the Evo 8-9 and yes they fit on the 4 and the engine is level to!

Get an EVO VIII ECU, the rom definitions for those ECU’s are very well mapped out and with the addition of Tephra mod roms 98% of Evo’s on the planet don’t need more than a stock ECU and funny actually remembering back when I got my VIII in a past life, the car’s drivability is better now with 14X,XXX miles than a brand new VIII from the showroom floor.

I’ve witnessed this myself with my VIII and ex’s old VIII RS, hers had 2k on it when we worked with Jester Tuning, car remained bone stock it’s whole life but was a night and day difference even after that first flash.

As did mine feel so much better though I had already started bolting on mods, then bigger turbos, injectors, and cams. Car still drives better than a new one from the factory. The IX’s and X’s didn’t feel as bad as the VIII’s did IMO drivability wise. Though better feeling than the 04 STI we drove prior to getting the VIII RS

-05’ Forester XT, 5spd manual, bone stock except for a TMIC and a Grimspeed 3-port Boost Controller, more power yes, quicker spool yes, but drivability was always stellar in that car.

-1.4L Turbo Sonic, another bone stock car that was a night and day difference with a little tuning as drivability went, I think cause we were able to dumb down the stupid TC nannies

-2x 1.6L Hyundai Veloster Turbos, never tuned as IMHO the 14’ and 15’ I had, I got sick of waiting for a viable tuning option, it was send your ECU in and that’s that no revisions and the nannies in those cars were down right dangerous. Had application specific dual Catch Cans on both.

-2017 Focus ST w/Cobb AP and Custom Cobb/Stratified with the ignition/spark based Adjustable traction control along with the other Tuning Options is down right magic. That car has been simply flawless, got GDI Turbo, buy application specific catch cans or an AOS before you buy the car lol, or add 1200 to the price and buy secondary injection prior to buying the car. That is if you give a **** about it, which I do, initially was going to buy an RS but no area dealer would go under 40k plus don’t need 4 AWD cars if I’m honest. Though if someone would have let me have one for 37-38k new I’d have bought it, after finally driving one (granted it was modded and custom tuned)

-2017 WRX Premium, Bone Stock except for interior accents and exterior badges , 6 spd manual, 40k miles now, bought at 30k miles, was always my 65yo moms dream car. That’s going in the shop for walnut blasting of the intake valves, BG GDI-T carbon cleaning, and I’ll install the V3 Crawford AOS, muffler deletes, TMIC, Cobb AP Custom Tuning

- So hmmmm what’s next on my list I have it down to a few and since Audi is the new BMW one can actually buy a BMW:

Used DB9
Used C-63 AMG
Used M5 V10 or V8 Turbo
Used M3 I6 Turbo (never liked the V8 in the M3 myself)
Used 535i
Used 335i
New Type-R (which I could of had for 36,5XX the other day) But after 20 years of black cars Integra GSR then the Evo, I’m sick of correcting my own paint, 2k in Clear Bra’s as it wouldn’t leave the premises without one, hell I could see minor scratches on it right there in the showroom. But man is a Black car pretty when clean. So it have to be the Championship White for me if I go new CTR.

Hell and if I hit the lotto I’ll be on a flight to England to peek at my dream a 720s being made!!

Sorry for rambling in your thread man, enjoy that Evo!!
