I don't know if I wanna go down in duration, lift at this point. I know the Kelfords tend to be more aggressive and thats kinda what I like. I mean I think your right its a crap shoot being any cam I put in will make power but idk. Maybe I am just being picky. I do know I don't like the rust and pitting on my cams that I saw.

You have an 8, GSC has new R3's.

We tested the new R1's on an FP green car. They worked awesome. The R3's look gnarly on the cam card, I'm sure they'll fulfill expectations as well.

I've never been conviced the bigger kelford's are actually helping based on the power we always make with the GSC stuff. Not like we ever come up short based on what a turbo is rated for.

So my tuner was ok with me going to a Mustang dyno to see what the car will do. So before you guys laugh I want you to think of something. My car made 1200ish at 55 lbs of boost, I did not know my tuner turned down the boost when I got my car to keep my clutch happy and if he told me I forgot. So with that said I was told car runs on kill mode about 44 lbs of boost. Here is the dyno graph from today.

Ok so before you guys laugh here is what I found out. The Mustang dyno is loaded stupidly. This dyno has been at the shop since 2001 and I don't think its been calibrated at all. Over the years I have heard that they blow up more cars on this dyno then anyone else that owns a dyno and I think I know why. So after reading my car made 670 whp at 44 lbs, I was pretty concerned. So I went to my tuner afterwards and was like dude wtf. He pulls the logs and the first words were man your lucky we didn't keep the 55 lbs of boost or you prob throw a rod. I asked him why do you say that? He said look at this. On his dyno car took aprox 9 seconds to make a 4th gear pull. This dyno took 20 seconds at 100% throttle. Ok so what does that mean? Means load is pretty high. Another thing that points to that is my injector duty cycle on his dyno was 75% at 44 lbs, and 92% at 55 lbs. So with that said on this dyno at 44 lbs I was at 96% or something like. The car seemed to work extra hard making the pull which it hasn't on any other dyno before. If I were to have used the 55 lbs of boost I would have been way out of injector and it would have been catastrophic.

So what I have learned is, be careful when it comes to dynos. Know what your load is and make sure you log everything. Saif (my tuner) called his second tuner and asked him about this as well and he was like yeah dyno is way off. So with this said today was a waste of 280 bucks for the dyno.
what does the car 60-130 or trap at the track? That'll tell you the power its making. Sounds like nobody is on the same page here which is concerning.

I don't know yet being I got the car back late in the year and most tracks in Michigan were closed. I will tell you though from 60 to 130 it gets up there quick. I have driven a car with 600 plus hp and it feels nothing like this. I have a friend who has a 2.4 evo that makes 600 on a mustang dyno and his car will not hang with this one. My tuner is having service done to his dyno after he gets his new hub dyno (for 3000 plus hp cars) and he wants to put the car back on the dyno to confirm his #s are correct. But like I said my old setup to this setup I highly doubt this car makes 670 to the wheel.

Ok so I have some stuff I need to report. I killed a 525 the other day. Driving home from my girlfriends and car kept going really lean and I am like wtf. So drove it out to my tuner being he was free for a few and we put his computer on it and he was like either hole in the line in tank or pump starting to go. Ok no problem I will get it home and figure it out. He did a little richening up of the tune on pump gas to get me home. I get about 3/4 the way home so about 20 mins and I lose all fuel pressure. Ok wtf, start the car it fires up I drive it 1/8 mile and it dies again. So a 20 min ride home took over an hour to get here and now 0 fuel pressure no matter what. Ok so now what. So today after work I figure I will take the connectors off the pumps and swap them and see if the car will have pressure. Sure enough car fires up and I have full fuel pressure. So now I have to swap out the bad pump and put a new one in. Not that big of a deal but pita with -10 line with the Bulletproof racing unit. So after I get the sending unit out I notice that the float wasn't on the sending unit. Ok no big deal but then I notice that the thing the float attaches to the metal thing that connects to the piece that senses the float is way off the mark. So I try to put it back on and it just doesn't look right. So I put a wanted add up I need a float thing that plugs into the sending unit. If anyone has one please let me know.

Oh and turner had his dyno recalabrated since it has been a bit and he wants to put the car on the dyno again being it took some adjustment. I guess his load he had tuned on my car was set to 20 after recalabration its now at 10. I really don't know what that means but now I know it should be sweet and if I understand it right car should actually make more power idk. I am tempted to put some ethanol 1r in the tank and really inflate the #s lol

Well car is put back together and I have fuel pressure again. I am going to drive it to work today and hopefully avoid the freezing rain and snow headed my way. Car has pump gas in it so not sure if the second pump will kick on if I make a hit but I will know for sure if there is something wrong. Float seems to be working ok as well. I straightened it out the best I can and it reads so I guess it is what it is. I will keep you informed.

Ok lets try this again, I typed out a whole new update and it disappeared when I went to look to see if I posted a dyno graph lol. So anyways its been a while since I have posted anything on the car. I did break the 1208@58 lbs of boost on that dyno. Since then I have had the car back and forth to the tuner to fix some driveability issues. Today 7/9 I went back for some more tuning. I did not get the car on the dyno today so we just ran on the street. The car is down to 55 lbs of boost being I was at 105% duty cycle at 58 lbs. So now I am back down to 98% duty cycle and basically out of injector.

I will say sorry for no video of the run I was not at the shop last time it was dynoed I had to drop it off. But I will say even at 55 lbs and 1185/802 which was the #s the car made the first time I had it on the dyno the cars just flat out scary on the street in kill mode. I am planning on making another move to the car. I am planning on bumping down a/r from a 1.0 to a.82 to.90 a/r to see if I can get the car to spool up better. I make like 12 lbs of boost at 6200 rpms in 4th gear before it takes off and full boost by 7k so not much of a rpm band. So by moving down a/r I am hopeing to get a little bit more of rpm being this turbo is stupid lazy even on a 2.2. This turbo was originally setup for a 2.4 engine and losing 20% of engine going down to a 2.2 may not be enough but should have been enough to make a nice powerband.

I am trying to get the car ready for the shootout this year. I had a bunch of upgrades for suspension I wanted to do, but my work decided hey lets work 40 hrs so that money for my bonus went to paying off bills instead of car parts. I know I know damn responsibility. I plan on running the 10.5 index this year being I think the car has a chance. I just have to work on getting it off the line and just let it eat. I do have a new full size rad my buddy gave me for the car but I noticed my damn lower ic pipe is in the way of where it sets in the bushing. So idk what to do. Car during a pull runs a little hot about 210* at 55 lbs of boost but does go down so thats good. I just wanted a little extra insurance using a full rad. Thats all for now guys. Thanks again to all who have had kind words for the build it really means alot and thank you to all who took interest in this build it means alot. Looking forward to seeing you guys in Sept for the shootout.

Yep pretty embarrassing going to the shootout with 1250 whp on 1 ethenol r and can't get out of the 14s all weekend. That and the turbo no matter how fast I shift takes anywhere from 2.5 to 3 seconds to rebuild 58 lbs of boost. It was so bad 2-3 shift I was seeing -4 lbs of vacuum and trying to recover back to 58 lbs.

So yeah I'm looking into either a hpt 6466 or a 6870. They told me with the new design the 6466 spools like a 6266 and the 6870 spools like a 6466 but will make 1100. So those are my options.
