I fitted the 295/35 rubber (had the 295/30 fitted before) and it was a lot bigger, so I decided to pull the bottom of the fender out a bit and made a carbon plate to tie it all in, now I won’t have any rubbing which is good.
The oil cooler will mount on top of the intercooler and will be properly ducted, this should help keep the temps down.
Im upgrading the exhaust system to a 3.5” and the to downpipe I wanted only comes in v band and matches up to the artec dump so thats why I ended up going that route.
The windows on my current door were cheap rubbish and scratches as soon as you touched them. These new ones from plastics 4 performance have a hard coat on them so they don’t scratch at all and the new sliders are alot better than my last ones.
The carbon tail will save a massive chunk of rotational weight and I’d been looking for one for a while.
The mirrors are WRC mirrors from a company in the uk, I had them make them in the same weave as the rest of my carbon.

Fitted the windows to the doors, used black titanium hardware all round to keep the weight to a minimum. Also satin cleared the mirrors and fitted them to the car.
Decided to get rid of the silicone hoses and use wiggins clamps, I’ve done the ones that connect the intercooler pipe to the throttle body and that connect the 2 cold side intercooler pipes together. Waiting on my new plazmaman intercooler to turn up and then I can sort the remainder 2 wiggins clamps.
I also had my artec manifold covered in the heat shield insulation.
Started putting the car back together, fitted the turbo, manifold and new downpipe, also had to relocate the Motec lambda due to the oxygen sensor being on the opposite side of the dump pipe compared to my old dump pipe.
I cut the new bits of pipe that will replace the silicone hose, got my mate to tack them in place so I could then check them. He’ll weld them up next week. Also got the brackets for the oil cooler and intercooler welded on so now it all bolts together.
Got the pipe work all welded up, made some ducting to completely seal off the intercooler, oil cooler and radiator. I did the sides and completely did underneath as well.
Next the car is off to my workshop so my mate can fab up the new 3.5” ti exhaust system
Took the car down my shop and we fabbed up the exhaust. The whole 3.5” exhaust weighs 7.5Ib so super light. I also made a little carbon heat surround for the rear bumper.
Next thing is to test the car at the local track, will be the first time driving it since the widebody and bigger wheels and tyres etc..
Tested the car at my local track, and wow the car is soo much quicker. To put it into perspective, last time I was here I did a 1:16.2 on brand new 265/35/18 soft rubber.
For this test day I was on some knackered 295/35/18, 5 year old 150 lap medium rubber and the car did a 1:14.7, the predicted lap was a 14.2 but I got held up in some traffic. Ino new soft rubber is minimum 1.5 seconds faster so I’d say the car is about 3 seconds faster from last years spec. I can definitely feel the acceleration difference with the carbon prop shaft as well.
Next on the cards is to drop it to my tuner to have the Bosch motorport ABS installed, this is the final modification I’ll do to the car before world time attack.
