MoTeC M800 Plug-n-Play Evo IX
MoTeC M800 Plug-n-Play Evo IX
Thinking about making some big changes to my evo for next year's assault on the Pikes Peak, so looking at selling off a bunch of stuff that I've been using on the car for the past couple of years.
MoTeC M800 plug'n'play ecu - this was a new unit installed towards the end of the 2010 season. I've checked with a MoTeC guy and have been told that this is the same hardware being sold today. These are sold as a base unit and then you have to purchase a bunch of the add-ons or upgrades to suit your application. Below is a cost breakout of the options and what this unit cost new:
Why am I selling it? Main reason is that I'll be getting the car re-wired, and its simpler to re-wire to a universal standalone ECU rather than one that's a plug-n-play model.
What am I asking for it? If you add up all the bits, it comes to $5427...gulp! As with anything used I'm not expecting to sell it for retail, but an ECU isn't exactly a wear item. Thinking that somewhere in the range of ~70% of new is probably a reasonable starting point for an asking price, so that works out to about $3800. I'm open to reasonable offers, but at some point it becomes cheaper to keep it and pay for more custom wiring work vs. buying the pre-done harness, so I'm not going to give it away.
The ECU is still in the car as you can see from the picture, but can be removed quickly. Please note that the MoTeC ECU board slips inside the factory ECU case. I'm in the Denver area, willing to meet up if you're local, willing to ship if you're not and it'll be insured! Please note that the canbus/USB adapter is not being sold as I need it to be able to tune the MDC (ACD ECU) which I'm keeping.
I also have a throttle kicker and bracket if the buyer is interested, that allows for the rip-snorting rally anti-lag.
Any questions - please ask away.
Thanks for looking!
Dave

Bump and price drop.
$3500 for the ECU and I'll toss in the throttle kicker so you can get your bang-bang on!

Sorry guys, not sure why I wasn't getting notifications. I don't think this would work with an Evo VIII because those have 4 plugs at the ECU whereas the IX only has 3. Motec does make a PnP version for the VIII.
Also, the unit has been sold, just received payment yesterday.
Thank you,
Dave
