DIY: Viper 5701 Install on CT9A
Tried to start my car this morning and the battery was dead again... looks like i might be re-installing everything again, as the relay is now ruled out as being the culprit. ugh
Help...???
OK Guys, I just had this alarm installed. I have an HKS type 1 Turbo Timer also.
The shop originally connected the system w/o the TT hooked up and the alarm would go off if the TT was used. I took it back to them and they wired it to work with the TT(supposedly).
After driving the car or just starting it, then letting the TT take over, close the door, doors lock automatically, TT goes off, Alarm sets, FOB blinks once on the lock button... like clock work about 1 min. after the alarm will go off! After hitting the Unlock to torn the Alarm off then again to unlock the door, the car beeps 4 times, and the LED is blinking 2. The guy who installed it says its the Glass Break sensor, so we Adjust it to highest &l owest tolerance (still does it), unplugged the Mic (still does it), unplug the sensor itself (doesn't go off) so we assume its that... He then starts questoning the TT so we plug it all back up, start the car, then turn it off without the TT running, Alarm doesn't go off!!
We are both completly confused at this point!
So I unplugged the Glass Break and drive home for him to consult with Viper Tech on the issue Monday. The Alarm shouldn't go off right? Wrong, It just went off after over 1 hour of sitting, 8 -9 horn beeps and the LED blinking 2... WTF?!?!
Also, it will only go off once and doesn't repeat...
Any help, please... I will post pics, just let me know what you need to see.
Thank you in advance

Update:
Viper tech said the unit doesn't have a good power supply and it benifits to isolate power to each sensor. So we isolated the power and ground on just the Glass Break and it seems to be fine right now.
Good info for anyone having issues with false trigger.

HELPppppppp!!! ok guys everything works. but i have a issue. the car will unlock perfect with my viper 5904, it will also arm. but the locks on the car wont move to the lock position. BUT it will however unlock and move the locks to the unlock position.
my question is, why cant it lock the car at all. even tho it will arm, but it wont lock the car, like the motor wont move the lock

If your locks operate normally with the door switch, which it sounds like they do, then you've either tapped the wrong factory lock wire, or your brain isn't sending out a negative trigger on that wire. I've rarely ever seen the second scenario. More likely either you've tapped the wrong factory wire, or the 2-pin lock/unlock plug isn't seated all the way into the Viper brain.
Take a meter to the lock wire on the car that you've tapped into and make sure it drops to 0 volts when you lock.

Recheck your connections. Most likely you tapped the wrong wire. If you have the right wire check to make sure the alarm is giving you the right output.
Alarm door lock outputs put out approx -3v each...
Very odd issue..
OK, so the actuators work fine.
what does -3v mean? Usually you will read -x when you have the pos and neg leeds opposite. If there isn't any - like just 3v that means you have the leeds on the correct pos and neg wires. Seeing as it is triggering the locks with a ground make sure you are getting a neg trigger output from the alarm.
Put the pos end to battery + and check to make sure it reads 3v with the neg end on the output wire.
