Project Blackout
For my own record:
Hope I ordered the right HID sizes.

Also ordered front, rear, and door edge protectors

as well as a very thick rubber license plate bracket.

Later today I will be getting all my windows tinted. 5% for rear windows & rear windshield. Most likely 15% for front windows. 70% for front windshield and a large 5% tint strip across the windshield. Then I will be dipping my wheels black as well. After that I have to consult with my local stereo shop to which headunit I want to get, and order the metra dash kit too. I have also emailed LeatherSeats.com for their Outlander Sport leather seat kit. Then I have to reinstall my headrest monitors after the leather seats are in and finally, I have to figure out where to remount my damn train horns. It comes with a 2 gallon air tank, compressor, and 4 bells.
It's always a challenge trying to figure out how to fit a train horn kit in every new vehicle I get.

Good list of add-on's.
Can't wait to see & hear your train horn once it's installed.

Tint is done. I went with 5% all around and 50% windshield instead after some advise from the shop owner that 75% is not even noticeable and only rejects like 10% heat. He didn't have 15% tint for the front side windows, only 20% and from my previous experience I didn't like 20% so I took the plunge with 5% all around. You literally cannot see diddly squat from the outside, but from inside the vehicle, even on a cloudy day like today, I can clearly see out. I didn't even notice the windshield was tinted!
I haven't tried driving at night yet, but I'm sure the 5% will be a very noticeable difference.

I couldn't paint my wheels today since it started raining, but I was able to buy 4 cans of plasti dip.

My shop wanted $450 for remote start & alarm on CompuStar. He kept ranting on about how difficult it is to do Mitsubishi's and how I will need to sacrifice a key to do so. Something about having to bypass the ignition AND bypassing something else for the doors as well.
Is there any truth to this?

You have a lot of fun and practical stuff you're getting installed. I wonder if the side moldings you ordered, is what I just took off on ours.
50% isn't bad as long as the tint has UV protection. Visually, sure dark is dark. Ours is 15% on the entire front windshield, but we're used to it, since all our cars have been that way for (at oldest) 17 years. The reduction of glare from oncoming vehicles, especially in the rain is minimized, and a lot of people don't think about that. 5% all the way around is perfect. No one can see us even with the panoramic glass open at high noon.
As for remote start, if it comes with an aftermarket alarm, that price is about right. I decided to just add-on remote start and still retain the OEM theft deterrent alarm system. What he means about difficult is that once you remote start the vehicle, and you open the side doors (not the rear trunk), the vehicle shuts off as a safety feature. According to DEI, there is not a bypass for Mitsubishi vehicles to keep the vehicle running after it's been remote started. Too bad, my installer is smarter than DEI and has figured it out. That's probably the pain in the *** part your installer was talking about. Good luck!

I also asked him about the LEDs he carried and he didn't want to do it, because he said something about how all Mitsubishi vehicles have to use the LED bulbs with built in circuit boards/resistors or else the LEDs will stay glowing. After doing a forum search, I don't see anyone using those types of LEDs.

Ah thanks, I understand it a lot better now that you've explained it and also agree on the pricing. I could hardly afford the remote start/alarm combo yet alone order another key from Mitsu. Guess this will have to wait, though it is one of the more important things on my list..

Ignition bypass I used:
Remote start kit I used:
Attached are the PDF's of the bypass kit install, and the OEM remote starter install. Now, of course this will be a little different than an aftermarket install, but might help a little.
For the LED's, I have been using V-LEDs.com LED's for a while now with zero problems. I'd recommend them to anyone.
