Robevo RS derails every thread megamerge
Street class is for stock to lightly modified cars. http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...%20online1.pdf
Literally tons of people come out to autox just for fun and have little to no modifications on their cars. If they get hooked, they likely start down the mod path until they hit the ceiling of what mods can be done for a given class.
Add in that lots of people will not want to void the warranty on their brand new Focus RS or Civic Type R and it brings this debate into even sharper focus.
I get that we are all fans of awd, but IF the Focus RS is slower around a track than the Civic Type R in stock form, then Ford has most definitely come up short imo.

tires
wheels
shocks/struts
spring perches
bump stops
brake pads
sway bars
aligment specs
air filter
engine bore
cat back exh
cat converter (if out of warantee).
These are the same companies that won't honor warantee
and cry "abuse" from even spirited street use? Good luck
tracking a car (in any class) several times and getting any warantee.
Remains to be seen once production civic comes out, but since I'll never see one in US,
who really cares. And if it was a bone stock production car or just kinda close like the "stock"
class above.
And yes, sine it rains or snows pretty much one out of every 3 days here (not
too mention sand washing onto the roads quit often from living in the jersey pine
barons), AWD still rules on the street.

Here is mine when i did run first time in the USA

my first rally event in the USA was also with mechanically bone stock evo X. 2008
I only had a necessary mods(safety , like roll cage and restrictor plate, ), which is actually made the car slower... However i started with coil-overs on the car that rally, but i had to change it back to oem, and finished the rally over 90% on stock suspension with who knows what alignment after we swapped it lol
( i had a KW V3 but the KW V3 blown apart) also i had performance brake pads. That is all i had in my first 3 rally in my car here in the USA.
here i am on stock suspension already, so only performance enhancing mod is the brake pads, engine wise wont matter since a car has less power then stock, hp and tq... Running on pump gas also.

as you can see , even the rotors are stock...

Also Hill climbs running stock cars many times , but cage in them .
Many many people run stock cars, even tire wise, like i did.
ps: my car back than at a start line was over 3500lbs. Just saying for weight comparison too. Also why i have different wheel? because the widest tire i can run as the AWD turbo car is 225's. So i needed a narrower rims. They are 18's.
Hence the point, i am sure there will be many RS running in stock trim in these events, Specially since they even have a stellar tire choice too, from the show room,

What about the Ecutek sticker? What's that for? Ecu tune? The cage, seats, wheels, brakes. Sorry, that car is not bone stock whatsoever.
Get the hell out of here saying that car is stock. Your post is almost offensive.
Bone stock is 100% as it came off the showroom floor.
ZERO MODS TO ANYTHING.
"Yea dawg, my car is totally stock............... except for this...and this...and this...and this..."
This is exactly the point OX is trying to make.

Yea that is a real OEM stock Upper Intercooler pipe and intake filter too.

Mods are only matters in speed - handling or racing or race related topics, if they do enhance your speed or agility, other then that... But maybe for you matters LOL like blue neon, stripes, seat covers, hood scoops etc...
doesnt matter the engine mods since my car does make less power then stock that time, period, you NEED to have some mods on the engine since they DO restrict your turbo to down to 34 mm = 1.33 inch inlet... But the HKS drop in filter and the speed circuit upper section is a big scary additon... lol

so you need a TUNE to even run the engine, and make some 225 ish whp and 255 wtq ( that time , thanks to USA tuners... lol ) about or less then STOCK power.... So your point is?
Also i stated mechanically which was the point, and not about leather seats or which one is matters for you more, when you talking about speed and agility?
For racing you have to have a safety equipment, and all and all my car WEIGHT is a same or even more as a show room cars.... So your point is?
wheels... jeez, my heart breaking point. lol we are also RESTRICTED to have max 225's wide tires MAX. So i need to buy a NARROWER wheels to fit those tires safely, so those are also less performance then stock... your point is?
barkes are also bone STOCK only the pads are not, your point is?
In rally the AWD Turbo cars are heavily restricted buy rules, for safety, and you know that.
playing smart again, just say something against me and huh just make a "point" ?
The thing is i bought that car up , besides my bone stock VIII which was a main point of my post but of course you ignored that, and picked something ( sound bite)to argue as usual, since wouldn't align with your post nicely... to see even in racing , like track - rally MANY cars running STOCK MECHANICALLY( point of the conversation about LSD ABS AWD etc) , besides they stripped interior (for fire safety etc)
lol

Back to my original point about the times bone stock cars run at Nürburgring.
I think it matters little for 3 reasons:
1. You are good enough of a driver to get anywhere near that lap speed.
Hence you bought that car to race, probably a lot, and will mod it as far as allowed,
even in the stock class (which is quite a bit it seems). Otherwise you just will not
be competitive, as others will mod their cars with cubic dollars.
2. You bought it to get your feet wet in mild parking lot auto-X or some other
slow speed event. What it ran at the ring has so little bearing on what the car will
do with the "driver mod" being so inferior. Even then, by your 3rd event, you will
have different pads and probably tires, so not bone stock in 2 very significant ways.
3. You bought the car for the street, in which case you either can't push it anywhere
in the US legally like you would at the ring and/or you bought a non AWD, in which case
there are so many scenarios you will not get the performance from a 2WD (either end)
you might on a perfect day/surface of a race track.

However, there is a reason why they have classes. So as long as you are in a street class, you can call it a stock car. Since at that class it really does matter how your car comes out from the factory. Period.
street class...
Everyone can do those mods easily without ANY mechanical changes in they car. That is the point of that class. Besides those parts you can change in that class is mostly wear and tear items, like pads tires... I mean you have to change them after a while .... lol
I do think the RS might have to ditch the optional pilot for street class , since they UTOQ rating maybe too low.... I might be wrong on that, Regions rules are varies sometimes, and i dont remember the optional pilots rating.
so sum it up, if you fit in the street calss, even when you dont have a oem tires or pads ( which many times even for testing magazine articles they do change) you can call the car bone stock.
If that wouldn't be a case, then what would happen when you do run off your tire or pad etc life time ?
Then you would start arguing my tires are newer so its a cheat, and start measuring thread depth ? lol

Again, get the hell out of here saying that car is stock. Stock is stock, zero mods. Easy to understand (for some people). Stop arguing about it.

But that wasn't even the reason why it got there in my post.

I mentioned it because it was lesser then stock, but mechanically stock (the topic about the RS AWD system how good is it etc )and i was racing with it, so as many guys i know....
And most likely the RS guys who will run they car mechanically bone stock just as i do.

The Type R can be and i think will be a serious contender. I like them.
I don't think you understand how this works.
You could have zero friends and zero followers and still derail conversations by just jumping into them and spouting things that derail them.
Sounds familiar actually.
Try it next time you are walking down the street and you see some strangers having a conversation. Just jump in and spout nonsense. You will see how it works.

it is more likelly people on tbe street would not arguing someone if they dont care at all that person.
never mind who talking nonesense.
this action of moving this part of the coversation, is like a goverment when cant really give a good answere and find them self being hurt by that.
i am fine with it thought. this is really a net not a realife. you guys taking this way to seriously. lol.
