Oooh, yeah, gotcha. With the other rear trailing arms. I'd like to, but those are outta my price range at this time.

Report back how the SS pistons work for you. I'm seeing posts where people have been experiencing fluid leaks. I don't think anyone has figured out why.
Any particular reason for the spring rates?

No im going to use the stock arms and shave em a lil if i need to. Research informed me they are good rates for track only car. Maybe even 14/16. Rather have more spring than more sway bar.

The SS pistons I've been told will leak when sitting while weather is really cold. I should have a heater in my garage before winter so hopefully this wont be a problem.

Heated garage? Spoil-t 😛

If you can get everything to fit, please let me know. I'd rather NOT cut body panels. Not that I'm looking forward to selling my new wheels and tires to buy more new wheels and tires LOL .

I'm thinking with my autox brain. Narrower car is easier to get through a course.

Makes sense. I never realized how drastically different cars setups are between AX and road racing until I got involved in both.

Yeah I used to try to target sort of a "best of both worlds" approach for my build, but I realized more and more that as you try to become more competitive in either world, that doesn't really work. Now it's definitely a purpose built autox car and there are several parts I'd have to swap out if I wanted to take it to the track.

Same here, So I focused on road courses. The car started out doing really well at autocross, but as it becomes more track focused it has suffered a bit in the parking lots LOL.

What's on your list of parts you'd swap over for track duty?

Aside from tires, the only changes I make to my STU build for track-type use are brake pads and setting the rear sway bar to full soft instead of full stiff. My current tail-happy setup is fun at 60MPH on an autocross course, but terrifying at higher speeds on a road course.

I have an SM car. My rotors are not track suitable (not enough mass to deal with the heat), I have a half radiator, which probably won't allow the cooling system to hold up to track heat, the wing will create way too much downforce at track speeds for the front aero to keep up with, the car is fast enough that it should have rollover protection, the suspension setup would probably be too loose at track speeds, etc etc. The last time I tracked it was in 2011 when it was 2.3L stock turbo, and making about 370whp on e85 at about 200lb heavier than it sits now.

60mph? Nice! I've done that on ONE of our courses. Must be nice. LOL

What in Heck are you running for brake rotors?
