Sean's 858/623 SLR2.2 aluminum rod Q16 Evo IX

Sean has had a monster of a street car for awhile but the 2.0L and stock intake werent cutting it as he got used to the power. In the end we took a built car and made it better.

EnglishRacing SLR2.2
Wiseco "Top Fuel" 10:1 Pistons
GRP Aluminum rods
GSC S3 camshaft
GSC +1mm valves and valvesprings
Englishracing Bushmaster ported head
Magnus V5 Intake manifold
Fuel Injector Clinic 1450 low Z
Buschur Racing double pumper
ETS 6466 V band Single Scroll 6466 turbo kit
ETS 4" FMIC and piping kit

Downpipe only

all the other usual suspects

The car ran 178 in the standing 1/2 in Sept at only 800whp on the ported stock manifold. Since this the kit has been sold and the plan is to move to our standard 1/2 mile style turbo kit, a twin scroll 7285 and BIG fuel system.

For reference here is the same car/engine with an EnglishRacing ported stock intake manifold -

The Magnus would have continued to make power even at 42psi but was straight out of injector and running a 12.6 AFR. I think it had another 20whp as it was and a smoother powerband to redline.

Are "top fuel" pistons from Wiseco custom or off the shelf? How is it different from the HD pistons or their off the shelf ones?

1%. Love it. What are the differences between this and the off the shelf pistons? Is this designed for a particular application/fuel/engine setup etc.?

As the name implies it is meant for maximum abuse. See our other thread where we show how we've put them through their paces.

Simply impressive, Aaron. Would love to see this thing with a bigger fuel system and on an Ethanol fuel. With the price of Q16, he might save some money...

Do you mind posting a link to the thread you are talking about? I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

UPDATE-

Switched to a 1.15 AR twin scroll 6870, Buschur double pumper, and a 5 bar AEM map sensor.

Making jam

Needs more injector and/or more pump and a 3 port to get the boost to hold rather than the MBC that is on it.
