I have an 18k I'll be installing shortly. My X is currently on flex, using a DW300c fuel pump and ID1300cc injectors. Avoid the DW pump, i'm having a lot of issues with mine. I'll be ordering a ASNU pump to replace it

I have a triple exedy clutch that im thinking to install while we are doing the turbo. Not sure if the stock clutch will handle 400whp.
Holy overkill on the clutch yes the stock clutch will handle 400whp. I'm making 405whp and 410wtq with the stock turbo on an OEM clutch and it holds just fine, 0 slip. Many MHI 18k users retain the stock clutch. Torque is what will cause the clutch to slip, not horsepower. I would sell that exedy triple and get some money back or save it for if you get bored with the 18k and want a big turbo setup or something of that nature.

Thanks for the feedback. I will then keep the stock clutch until i see slip. I will store the exedy for another day.

Car started and baseline tune uploaded. Its idling rich at startup 10.9 and when AC compressor starts it goes lean to 15.2. Still some work needed to make it driveable on street before dynoing it.

Also i need to break in the clutch before pushing it hard.

18k tucked in behind stock heat shield
Injectors and adaptor went in with no issues

Sounds like the tune needs some serious adjusting if the tuner can't get a base tune to idle at stoich with ID injectors.

I have no doubt the tuner will get it right after seeing the logs files i sent him just now.

I just arrived home and the AFR was all over the place from 10-17AFR so some work is still needed. Clutch is heavier than stock and grabby, im getting used to it.

Hopefully you did a boost leak test before you started tuning.

Also, the clutch is a cerametallic race material, doesn't really need broken in. You're also nowhere even near the max capacity of that clutch, so it's not gonna slip, ever.

I have a drop in filter, my installer says that would be a restriction and i need to get a cold air filter and cancel the box. Anyone agree with this?

Yes its ported. No need for the coating as i used stock heat shield. Also coating delay shipping by two weeks.
