Question about interchange of 2006 Lancer and 2006 Evo IX parts
I have a 2006 Evolution IX- it has the speakers inside of the factory a-pillars (the interior trim on the sides of the windshields)
Will interior trim pieces from a base-model lancer fit?
I do not have a radio in my car, and as a result I also do not need speakers in the a-pillars. If I purchase a set of custom made gauge a-pillars, can I go with the base model Lancer ones (it will save cost)
Obviously they will need to be painted to match the factory colors either way.
They look very similar in pictures but idk if it's direct fitment, sorry. How much of a difference in price is it? Iirc a dual pod full pillar from MAP Performance is only like $40-$50 bucks. No painting required. I cant imagine buying a lancer one or getting a factory lancer base pillar and having it modded and painted would be that much cheaper.
If your aim is just speaker removal just take it out and put the pillar back on?

I already have the 3 gauge version one that MAP (and everyone else) sells. It fits horrible. The speaker cover looks ridiculous. I only want an OEM one with factory fit. I see no need for a speaker (because I have no radio) so why not get the base lancer one assuming it fits just fine. It is 60$ cheaper compared to the evo one.
I have actually never once seen a factory quality looking fit on any overlay gauge pod for any car, regardless of manufacturer.
