I purchased the QRJ but there's no solid diagram or instructions that come with the bov. I have seen pictures of it being installed both ways, so which way is the correct way? Currently I have it like this (opposite of the OEM valve orientation)
Correct. Is that the right orientation? The OEM diverter valve is opposite of that, with the inlet being where the valve seats, and like every other bov I've seen. I have seen this valve being installed both ways so I don't know the correct one
My setup has developed bucking and popping that I am attributing to my Synapse Synchronic so i'm thinking since CBRD recommends this Tial over it i'm going to swap it out... not cheap tho, but I'm at 30 PSI of boost so I doubt even a crushed 9 is going to work for me.
^Based on what? How long have you have the Synapse installed on the car? They will need to be rebuilt (relubed) from time to time. I just think it would be wise to confirm what the issue is and try to remedy it prior to simply throwing money at a new DV because CBRD prefers one unit over the other. CBRD is a good shop and both valves are solid but Im on the camp of figure out the issue instead of guessing and buying new parts that you may not need.
The valve may not even need o rings but honestly they sell a rebuild kit that comes with their lube and the o rings together so not a bad option. They come apart very easily but just be very careful when putting the allen bolts back in as the casting for the synapse is shall we say not the best.
