My build advice
That is a big turbo 72mm I believe and seen a few cars with those and they seem okay??
Well I'm not sure why the housing doesn't have the a/r cast into the side, both my garretts do. Maybe it's an aftermarket housing?
Super99 has a similar compressor (71mm inducer, 99mm exducer) but utilizes a billet compressor wheel so it actually flows a little better than your cast wheel (75mm inducer, 102mm exducer). The big difference is in the turbine, the super 99 has a much smaller wheel 67mm exducer compared to the gt42 which has a 75mm exducer. The larger turbine flows more but is going to spool slower. Pound for pound of boost the gt4202 will make better horsepower. Both turbos exhibit excellent high pressure ratio flow due to the larger outside diameter of the compressor wheels.
Don't be afraid to run the smaller a/r with this turbo if you have good fuel. gt4202r can push very high pressures efficiently. Basically the super99 was made to push 45+lbs of boost through a small T3 frame and the 4202 can do the same just with a smaller a/r.
Just have to figure out what you have so maybe post up some pics and see if someone on here can tell you.
