Grid Life HPDE+ Rules

http://www.grid.life/trackbattle-tim...ules/#hpdeplus

Question:

Factory turbocharged cars must remain within 20% of factory boost settings.

what exactly would that amount to? for evos 8, 9, and 10. just curious.

also, what's with the 255 limit for awd? 265 seems like it would be more in line with other clubs. didn't see anything about brakes or lsds

Which class are you looking at?

Edit: Nevermind, I missed that you had it in the title.

IIRC the 255 width has been around for a few years. It's a pretty common class size in the midwest.

Probably actual boost. So, stock is 20psi taper to 15psi. So you can do 24psi tapering to 18psi.

Agree.

Without any official clarification, I would also say whatever your car's year factory boost is, so an Evo 8 can't key off of an Evo 9 or Evo X or even different year's Evo 8 for that matter.

As for tires, which series you see 265? Global Time Attack has largely similar rules as GridLife. They also limit AWD to 255 in their Enthusiast class (i.e. HPDE+ in GridLife).

The Optima USC is hardly a time attack focus event, so the rules are very different. If I am read it correctly, you can run any tire size as long as they are DOT tires with tread wear 200 or higher.

Classes are also separated largely by minimum weights and make year, AWD/RWD are mixed together. Unless Optima USC is your main entry, I wouldn't build a car based on their rules.

There are a few brands of 200+ treadwear tires that have been banned for 2018 in OPTIMA's series, so you'd definitely want to check the rules. There are also some restrictions on aftermarket aero modifications. Outside of that, there aren't many limiting considerations for street-legal cars. Anything AWD that weighs more than 3199 pounds runs in the RECARO GTS Class and anything less than 3200 pounds runs in the Holley EFI GTL Class. You don't need a full interior, working horn, wipers, functioning lights, etc... unless you want to be competitive.

"Weights are as presented in tech without a driver."
