Thanks Donny, I will look them up and check it out. Honestly though I will probably still go with the Recaro's. I want to keep as they came from the factory. I can get a very good discount on the seats new.. not that it still doesn't make my eye's water thinking about it. I just posted another thread on here about final edition Evo's that were shipped to other countries. Holy **** batman. You should see what they got in New Zealand! Here is the link:

1) Power Folding Rear View Mirrors that sync with the front door locks!

2) Buit in reversing Camera

3) Special Recaro Heated Leather Seats

4) BBS Alloys with Gold lettering

5) Shaded rear windows and rear windshield

The Evo in NZ probably costs $80k

And that reverse camera, ugh, wow, how much do I pay to *not* have it on? Here is my reverse camera. I think it looks much nicer:

I have heard different levels of success in not having the various warning lights come on or stay off once fitted correctly.
The seatbelt buckles are 1" longer, but honestly, you do not notice it. Everything else is plug and play. There is a 4pin plug under the seat that is the same between the seats, with Recaros it used 2 of the wires, in the new seats it used 4 wires (on the seat side), going down to 2 and 2 doesn't hurt anything. It would have if it were the other way around.

As for exhausts.. that way down the road. I would like to get the air damns fitted first, then Recaro's and only then look at possibly upgrading the exhaust system, but to be blunt, the standard exhaust sounds pretty good as is.[/QUOTE]

Yah the 2014+ exhaust also makes decent power as well. You also don't need a tune for one if you leave your cat on.

Perhaps so, but I had to pay $545 to have the reverse sensors put in to my Evo when I bought it. Have a free camera installed at the factory would have been a nice touch. When it comes down to it, I could with out the reverse camera's, the folding power door mirrors, but the shaded rear windows and shaded rear windshield and Recaro's would have been more use.

I put an aftermarket Pioneer head unit in mine, and adding the $20 reverse cam wasn't a big deal. Though I did have to take the bumper off to route the cable, that was the most time consuming part.

The rest was just sliding a signal wire into the reverse light harness, then running the cable to the front. As soon as reverse light gets power, that signal wire tells the head unit to switch to the camera.

The OEM radio drove me nuts. You couldn't change songs on USB if the car was moving, and it completely re-read each folder each time you changed locations (read: it was dog slow). It didn't cache anything, making it impossible to select a song before a red light changed to green.

But you could browse around Sirius all you wanted, go figure.

I just had the MMCS installed last week, mudfaps and side door wind deflectors installed and all that was $3K plus. I have not had much time to play with it yet. I came down to CA to see family for Xmas and it has been snowing back home.. so now I need winter tires fitted as soon as I get back. I am thinking Michellin Pilot Alpin Sports. Any one have any experience with these?

If you plan to drive the car in the snow, I'd get an AYC pump relocation kit. These pumps don't hold up well with salt so you could avoid a repair down the road.

I'm sure you already know this but you can get a set of very gently used leather Recaro seats on eBay for less than 2k.
10k for a set of seats is crazy! Lol

Been down that road. Good Luck finding a "gently" used almost new pair of "Heated, Leather OEM Evo X Sport Seats on eBay. The one's you are referring to have worn/torn leather on the drivers side and ones that are "gently used" were pulled from Evo Xs that were in write off accidents where the air bags have deployed at the time of impact.
Same goes for searching the scrap metal car dealers. Recaro's pulled from written off Evo's by the hundreds. Leather torn apart from Air Bag Deployment. So, I think I will hand over the $10K for new in the box, OEM seats. If there was any other way to get them cheaper, believe me, I would. I even called dealers in Canada. The price was skyrocketed up to $14K Canadian after two phone calls.

And to be blunt, I can not stand the thought of putting second hand seats into a brand new car. You just dont know who was doing what in them, pets, kids, smoking.. the list goes on.

When I was looking for a car back in 2007 (Lexus IS350), the only one that was fitting my criteria was located by Los Angeles. After agreeing on the price over the phone with the dealer, me and a friend of mine bought plane tickets from Chicago to LA. The sales guy picked us up from the airport, I signed the paperwork and drove the car back home. Even though I got a speeding ticket the next day just east of Las Vegas, this was still one of my most memorable road trips. So now a days, if I'm looking for a car I search the whole continental US. Because that initial drive home can tell you a lot about the car you just bought.

I'm 52 and just purchased in August the last remaining new Evo X MR in Apex Silver (with Touring Package) from a dealer in Denver, CO. I bought it site unseen, had never driven one before let alone sat in one. Bought a one way ticket from Seattle to Denver, spent almost a full day filling out paperwork when I got there, then planned my 4 day drive back to Seattle vowing to never take any interstates or main roads. Drove through the rockies, 5 states and finally into Seattle. (Oh and made one last stop at car toys to have my Valentine One fitted and hard wired in before leaving CO)
All can say is I got to know my new car really well... and even on the full break in period of 600 miles and not going above 5,000 rpm it is faster than 98.5% of every other car / truck on the road in the continental United States. And cornering.. it defy's the laws of physics in the known universe. I laid wast to every country boy in a pick up, every subaru forester, Buick, Ford... there is no car that can bend time / space at will like the Evo. The sad part is.. I never needed to get it above quarter power the whole way back to vaporize any one foolish enough to attempt to keep up.

I am not going to mess with this car in any way engine wise and the only accessories are, and will be standard OEM items from my local dealer. Which... I have already started with. Just dropped $3,000+ on the Mitsubishi MMCS NAVIGATION SYSTEM with 7 inch HD touchscreen, Evo X mud-flaps and the side window wind deflectors. And don't get me started on the Recaro Seat situation because I am so pissed at this. Have already priced up and got the part numbers for a set of new dealer supplied heated leather Recaro OEM from the parts dept. $12K with install. (And that is if they can figure out the air bag light situation) I'm not buying into the story of "they no longer conform to the US side impact airbag requirement BS. I called dealers in Canada and the cars their were still sold with Recaro's right up to the end so some one in Japan is lying.

Next up I need some feedback on is the air damn kits. I LOVE the looks of this stuff. Does any one have images of their cars with the 2015 kits installed? Front, Rear and sides? This will be the last accessory install apart from retro fitting the Recaro's some time next year. I am confused as to how much the side aero skirts have been re designed from previous years?

And as for personalized license plates.. who ever has "GO ON 3".. that is just hysterical. I showed the image of the back of your car in one thread on here to my dad (he is 85 and just got him into a nursing home.. he laughed so hard I thought the medics may need to resuscitate him. He is still talking about it days later)

I love all of your cars by the way, at least the ones I have seen on here. Your a great crew.

All the best and Merry Christmas
Congratulations on the MR purchase .

It is an awesome car. You plan to keep it stock or near stock is not going to be as enjoyable but it definitely is an amazing ride, even stock.

But it is not faster then 98.9 percent of cars in the market now. Remember is 2018 in a few days and there are many fast stock cars made now days. It is not 1990 any more lol.

- Air filter - https://www.rallysportdirect.com/par...tic-air-filter you can put this on whenever

- Would change transmission fluid @ 5000 miles just to get initial breakin material out

- Recommended to drive S-Sport manual as much as possible (I enjoyed doing so all of the time) because it doesn't slip the clutches as much as sport / normal so will make them last a LOT longer. ~2500 to replace clutches so you want them to last

- Always let transmission come up to temp before romping on it

- The SST is a special transmission, so if you ever do decide to get it tuned, only go to the best that can work with it and not break it. Kozmicmotorsports.com did all the work on mine and they do outstanding SST work.

- Exhaust wise - I got a Sakura exhaust, it sounded fantastic but is a 3" exhaust so you would need to get tuned for it. I liked the sound of the Cobb exhaust, a lot of people like the ETS Quiet as well. Lot of options, try and hear it in person before buying if possible.

Hope that helps, just a few tips from long time owner - 42 here, so age and fun cars is irrelevant lol
I made a SST fluid change at 6000 miles and it was a big waste of money.

I started drag racing my MR with 1450 miles and had some mods on it since then.

The fluid and filter came out like brand new. No sign of break in metal at all.

I do not recommend changing the SST oil until 20K miles. Also at this time change the plugs and rear differential oil and transfer case oil.

I’ve ran the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 for three years in the Seattle Tacoma area. Ice, rain, slush to light snow. It handled it all like a champ. Treadwear lasted me very long. The current Pilot Alpin PA4 is probably one of the better Performance Winter tires on the market.

I'm sorry my old matey, but I beg to differ. A lot car manufactures are claiming high BHPs and how they now boast all wheel drive, they have this, they have that. I drove across 4 states to get back to Seattle and can categorically state, that no matter how fast all other car's were when I came into proximity.. they were nothing but distant specs in the rear view mirror within seconds. And.. more importantly, don't forget, It's not always about the BHP under the hood, its about how much a car weighs, and how the power is put down. I'm not harping on about this because I own the car, I can only relate to my experience driving it.
I have a good friend of mine Michael, who owns a beautiful 911 Turbo S, all in black with a Recaro race seats fitted and full harness. He couldn't wait to get out of the coffee shop to see my car. All he said was after looking it over carefully was... "Thats a fast son of *****"

As for fluid changes, I stick with the manual and the Mitsubishi techs on this. Oil changes with Mobile One Synthetic every 3,000 miles and SST Gear Box Fluid change at every 30,000 miles. These guys built the engines and gear boxes, the rest of us did not. Then if any thing goes wrong, you can prove that you followed all the instructions to the letter, no questions asked.

When I lived back in the UK I owned from new a Golf GTI 16 Valve (1992) an Audi A4 Turbo (1998) and a Porsche Boxster (2000). I used the think my GTI 16 Valve was fast until one day I was driving up the M40 at 80 MPH and a beautiful red Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evolution II passed me doing roughly 86 MPH. It crept up to 90.. I followed suit merely to get a good look at it. Then.. he made the jump to light speed and was gone in less than 8 seconds. I dropped to 5th and red lined up to 6th, then red lined again until I was at 136 MPH. It was a futile attempt. I had never witnessed that type of acceleration before. And that car was a 2 liter, 16V, Turbo Charged Inter cooled 4 wheel drive. The Evo is just like that car, if not better. The Integrale was much lighter, and the max BHP of the Final Edition was 215 (1996). I have some images here of it. Today they sell in the UK for almost $75,000. Oh.. and did I mention this car won 6 world Rally Championship Titles I almost purchased one in 97 and didn't do it. I so regret that decision. Its why I jumped on getting the Evo X while I still could.
