Yes indeed sir! It is full speed ahead. I just have to work my *** off now to pay for all of this! I missed the order date by a week. They had a full drivers side seat in CA but by the time I got my parts guy at the dealership to order them, it had already shipped out to a another part of the country. So, I am waiting patiently for one to arrive from Japan. They did open one box for me and show me the passenger Recaro... OMG.. I almost wet my self So nice.. so really, really nice. All wrapped in plastic. I told Tony.. "just tape up the box.. I cant look! It's like December and your 12 and you find the presents your parents got you, but you can't open them up till the 24th. It's such a long wait..

Everyone who buys a BRAND NEW EVO X says:

"I am not going to mess with this car in any way engine wise..."

tick tock , tick tock... There is just too much power easily tapped from the platform...

DON'T remind me. I remember saying that. I never thought I'd see the day when I went back on a quote. It's irritating. Really.. irritating. But..Jaraxie.. please note. Seats, Aero Kit. Not engine. Although I did talk to the Mitsubishi Rep. I can add:

1) Sport Air Filter (Ralliart)
2) Sport Exhaust Muffler (Ralliart)
3) HKS Intercooler Piping

And that is it. Nothing more and still keep the warranty intact. Ralliart as it is a division of Mitsubish,i so keeping it OEM except for the HKS piping. Just those three things ($1,500) will give another 21 BHP according to the techs at the Mitsubishi service center. That will bring it up from 291 to 312. You get all that by just making the engine breath better.

And if your ECU gets a re-map tune..... I mean how did that get there? Perhaps Russian hackers?

I have already explored the possibility my old matey, and have to inform you.. it void's the warranty. So, until I hit 100K miles or 10 years, my hands are tied. Now if the Russians hack my ECU.. then I claim plausible deniability

Yes. But.. be careful. Go directly to the parts department. Ask for 2014 Recaro replacement seats (your dog chewed up the old one's) and go from there. And be very selective in picking your dealership. You really need to be on great terms with your parts guys. I took my entire service/parts crew out for beers two weeks ago as a thank you for all they are doing for me. They are an awesome team.

Oh.. and they are....very....very expensive.

$3K a piece? That would cover the back rest of one seat. (I will attach the original quote from Shortline where I purchased the car below). Try $6,677 per seat full retail for leather/heated) And that my good friend is just parts. Not including labor. Because I have a great relationship with my service center here and I have already spent well over $5K in other area's of the car (MMCS Sat Nav, Mudflaps, Wind Deflectors, Heat Shields etc) I am getting a deep discount on the Aero Kit and Seats. But make no mistake.. Seats including parts, labor and tax is still well into $11K. The Aero Kit is on top of that.
Most guys on here have already spent deep into $20K+ on increasing BHP, body kits etc. If I could do only one thing on this car and one thing only.. If I had a choice of any thing.. I would pick the seats. Above all else and always first. With out them.. the car is half of what it should be. With out those seats.. there is no comfortable supported cornering.. there is no comfort for long distance drives.. the car was built and engineered with those seats in mind on the drawing board. With out them, it does not matter how much BHP you have.. how good your car looks from the outside with body kits etc.. with out those Recaro's.. it's 50% of what it should be. Many will disagree with me, but that's okay.

Damn.

I am a bit confused fused. You've spent over 20k at the dealership instead of other sources in an attempt to maintain your warranty? That amount would cover ANYTHING that could possibly go wrong without a warranty. Please don't take offense but it appears you're trying to set some record for most money spent on an Evo X through a stealership.

No, not in the slightest. I wanted original OEM Recaro's, new and not used. With airbags in tact. I have explored all other options from eBay, to junk yards etc. I even wrote to Recaro directly to ask if they can supply me original OEM seats they made for Mitsubishi They stated they do not make leather seats and if I want what used to come with the car, then I have to go through "stealership" as you put it. The parts dept puts in a request, that goes to Japan, Japan contacts Recaro, then Recaro makes the seats and ships them to Japan, then Japan sends them back to the US. I didn't make the system up, it's how they do it. If you can find me new OEM seats to go in a new car, buy all means let me know and I will cancel the order.

I have a land rover. I bought it with out a warranty 10 years ago. The extended warranty at the time would have cost $4,800. Since owning the car I have spent $11,000 on it over 10 years. I vowed never to do that again. And, as I was told by the dealership where I purchased the Evo, a new gear box with parts, labor and tax is $18,000. So, there you have it.

And as for these seats not meeting DOT side impact airbag requirements, it's a load of horse ****. I called the DOT last month. They have no record of these seats not meeting up to date impact standards and have no idea what Mitsubishi is talking about. I think I know the actual reason the seats were pulled and it has nothing to do with safety.

No offense taken, and I am in no way attempting to set a record in spending money. Nothing infuriates me more.

Oh my you got taken, again. MSRP for both those parts are:

6901B356XA - $3,148.34
6911A893XA - $2,189.50

With various online parts dealers showing them for hundreds off of MSRP.

It seems like you are easily swayed by the air of mystique and lack the ability to ingest proper information.

We are not all as God like as you Oh almighty Razorlab. And, I will bring this up to the parts Dept and because it’s a company car, I dare say I’ll be able to get the tax knocked off as well.
You should come to my Church to do a sermon. I’m sure the congregation will be enlightened by your all knowing wisdom, guidance and lest I say... humility. Ahmen.
