Neat trick for lining up the pan when working alone. Cut the heads off some extra bolts and use them as dowel pins to hold the pan in position one handed while you put in the numerous pan bolts. Makes it less likely to smear the RTV too much. Just don’t tighten them or they will be a major pain to remove. A lift and a helper would have made this job easier, but this trick helped me a lot. Learned it from a YouTube video. Maybe it’s common knowledge to everyone but me <shrug>

I've got these plastic bits that thread in. They have "barbs" for holding gaskets on while you line up/put a pan on. I use them for my Evo, too. Lining things up = priceless.

Wait, what crank and rods do you have? I'm on stock crank with Manley H beams and didn't need to clearance by Tomei scraper.

Stock crank and whatever Buschur was using for his stage 3 short blocks in 2009. The photos I posted show the problem.

My Carrillo's and 94mm eagle crank also had plenty of clearance.

@EVOizmm did you end up fixing the oil surge from the Racefab oil pan at all?
I saw your #323 post from 2017.

I'm about to release my new wet-sump pan to the market, will be a huge improvement over the Racefab pan.
Something to really bridge the gap between AMS/Moroso/Racefab and dry-sump.

hex key set screws work better in the correct size and you can remove them with the hex key= no worries

I use plastic dowels that I got off Amazon. They are meant to hold gaskets in place while raising the pan. I happened to have them laying around and they work great. Of course, you gotta have them before you start, so not that great of an option when you're sitting there with HondaBond on the pan....
