Everyday I see a thread stating "My CEL is on" I think at the top of the engine section we need to have a thread stating how to get the code from your car then once you find out the code the they can post PO030: what do i do? or something like that. If needed I will even take the time to write the thread I just think that it would streamline the process. Because in the thread it goes like this

State the CEL is on --> Told to get code --> Asks How to get code --> Gets Code and posts code --> Is told what the code is and what it could be.

Rather then

Posts code -- > told what it could be

Just my 2 cents.

you need a code reader, forget what the actual name is, but you plug it into a harness and it tells you the code

 

Even if there was one, they still wouldn't read it!
