wouldn't it be nice to have a opinion forum??
with all these
"what do you think?"
"would this look good?"
"should i get these?"
"what color?"
...bla bla bla questions
it would be nice to shove them all in one spot
make the rules so that all opinions are valid even if it's not what the thread starter wants to hear...i mean,if you ask these questions it's a sure shot that everyone isn't gona agree.
just a thought shine there has been a lot of these poping up lately

 

Yeah, I'd like to be able to ignore them all and get them out of my Show and Shine too.

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Andrew does recieve the bad end on that deal. Most of the "how do you like", "what do you think" type of threads go straight to 'Show and Shine'.

 

I move half to the Newbie forum too. It's just...I dunno. When they make up half the forum it's a little annoying.

Seriously, though, this is a good idea, and bring back the Sentra.

 

Better idea: Forum allows only posting of polls. Granted people can actually provide pictures/example of what they want compared, people can vote in the polls and per usual, each vote brings the poll back to the top of the new threads list, but by cutting out user posts, avoids the rather obnoxious edge of these threads by eliminating: "that's ghey" or "those suck" or type replies. Plus useful for the other random tidbits of "What's the best X" style posts and if someone really needs in depth comparison info they can search (HA!) for themselves.

 

that does sound simpler...hopefully simpler is better...but what about the people who still post these type of threads but don't add a poll??
i'm no moderator so i know i don't really have a say but just throwing ideas

 

The forum and the posting ability would be coded (if possible with the VB) to only allow poll creation from the get go, eliminating the intial reply screen and taking it to the poll creation one. Plus, creation of a place designed specifically for these types of things would allow more "leniency" in getting rid of the more obnoxious posts should people not want to use the new system.
