I can't speak for all the moderators, but the supermods get as many as 20 reported posts some days, and read 100s of threads every day. When the same person gets reported for 2 or 3 separate posts in one day, do you think the issue is the moderator or the user?

The points system works great for keeping track of which reported threads have and have not been reviewed. Immense time saver and a good way to ensure someone has reviewed those threads.

Wicked, "breaking a rule that is not mentioned here" is a good option for enforcing rules in the TOS all members agreed to when they signed up, but which don't have a specific entry in the points system. The last time I used it was for a member who preferred to refer to various minorities by derogatory slang terms. It's pretty obviously against the rules but doesn't have a line item in the points system.

evodan, I remember that thread, and it may have been me who gave you the points, either that or SASD did and I reviewed all the infractions from the thread. You were both out of line, both broke the rules. Not sure what else to say that isn't more off-topic than this already is.

SASD gave them to me. i did not start the problem. it did go off topic in a way but it still was on topic. i feel i should have been given a warning as i did not start it and i did not finish it. i called a kid who was bugging me over and over and calling me out a sissy. i just feel someone had there eye on me and punched me instead of a slap when i was heated tord a guy pm'ing me and giving me a problem.

1st the points system. if these rules are in forced then they need to be enforced to EVERYONE. members mods admin vendors. clearly this does NOT happen.

i have points for a reason i think is total bull ****. i was attacked and i stood up for my self. i dont know about you or the others in this forum or anywhere for that matter but when i am attacked i speak up and stand my ground. i am not a little sissy. i dont take **** from no one. if you got a problem and start pm'ing me and posting **** up on a forum then i have every right to back my self up. i am NOT going to go sit in the corner or run away or tell a mod someone made me upset. and i dont even feel what i said/did was out of line. the moral of the issue was a kid called me out with many other words said. i stood up and said then lets go sissy. bring it on. it was about a race i be leave. and SAS which clearly has a problem with me from the getco gives me flaming points. i called bs with him and he gave me **** in pm. i went else where for justice and got ignored. i am not gonna go on as im just lil ol evodan member and mean nothing to no one here.

lastly i busted 2 mods at the time for braking the rules. i called them out on it and there powers enabled them to delete the posts. which where bashing me, flaming, and braking rules. 2 out of how ever many mods this site has has it out for me. i really dont care. i lost respect for a lot of things after these to problems went down. i get along with a few mods here very well. and its a shame that the bad rasins give the good grapes a sour name. this is a sum up reply. there is much much detail left out on both sides. ill stop here as im getting heated for something months ago that happened and never really was resolved nor ever will be.
Here's another way to think of it, evom is like a school yard or a small town, it has police officers/supervisors (the mods) present to help keep law and order and basically stop members from beating each other with sticks. If you have the right to defend yourself, every other member has that right. What's to stop two members from simply fighting until someone goes to sleep because they're "defending themselves"? You can't go out and kill someone for calling you gay anymore than you can sit back and have a mud-throwing contest on evom because someone flamed you. If we allowed members to "deal" with issues on their own, we'd have complete anarchy just as well would in real life. Law and order goes both ways, if you want to be protected, you have to accept that others will be protected. Lastly, mods do not have it out for you, do not be so vain, we deal with a lot of members and we're lucky if we remember the true **** stirrers let alone the simple agitators.

Since you mentioned the TOS as the place where the rules are that are not mentioned in the points system are, thats ALL I needed to know.

I was not arguing about it, I was just curious what guidelines you guys were using to justify that infraction without a clear cut rule.

I'll give you an example of where that rule SHOULD have applied. As you may or may not know, I am a Deaf member of this forum as well as Chris from Washington. There was a thread he posted where members were ridiculing him for his typing/writing skills. I promptly jumped in to defend him and everyone backed off at that point except for one member who went on a tantrum that he had to learn English and that Deaf people should be no different at learning English that he was.

If I recall correctly, I reported this thread with no results. Point I'm trying to make is all over the page but if I report something to you guys that goes against my morals and Deaf culture, I expect that stuff to be dealt with swiftly. Nothing gets me more heated than seeing another Deaf member discriminated against anywhere/anytime.

Anyways, enough off topic banter from me... This has been one of the best discussions I've ever conducted with the moderating crew/Admins. It was constructive and educating.
