I'm in on this.

If you truly want to be a member on here, post counts should not matter at all.

If you are looking to sell and buy things and do not care about being involved in the community, there is this crazy thing called EBAY.

( I do not mean to sound lame and like a pre recorded message, but it's the truth.)

My feelings on the matter are that I really don't like to post unless I've got something of worth to say on a topic...

I've got a couple of the "Hey your car looks nice posts" but part of experience is time, and if you're new to the forums you should be reading up before you post...

And since for the most part if someone posts a question that's already been answered they get jumped on (not debating that because searching is good, but it just means that there is 1 more possible post taken away), where is the chance for those members to get 100 posts aside from the 'filler' posts...

So you're asking people to gain experience before they post in the FS threads, but aren't encouraging them to post up questions as they try and get that experience...

I don't really care since I'm about at the 100 marker anyways, but it just seems a bit off to me...

To me it makes no difference, I bet someone can get 100 posts in a day if they wanted to. Implementing some sort of reputation system where users give other users rep. for useful posts would be more worthwhile but I don't think that is possible on here.

While pushing it to 100 make stop some unwanted people, its also going to stop people who are legitimatly trying to trade/buy/sell. Ive been a memeber for almost 5 years and i have 330 posts, so for people like me who much rather prefer reading all the knowledge and using the for sale section would take literally more than a year (thats roughly 66 posts a year for me). So i believe its going to cause more of the useless posts and trust me the "search" button is already losing its value sifting through whats already here.

I have never been ripped off on EvoM, and I am really happy about this. I have only met and talked with great people in the course of selling/purchasing parts and have actually made a few new friends. The only troubling thing that I do see is people whoring in the OT section and around the mechanical threads to try and get to the 50 (rules clearly state no post count in OT, which means they were in such a hurry as to not even read the rules of the forums). If this person is that motivated to buy or sell something they should

1) Check E-bay to buy or sell a part
2) PM the seller privately to work a deal out. Then they will have contact/shipping info approved.
3) Talk to the regional guys in their area who KNOW this person to work out selling or purchasing said part.

A quick race to 50 just means that they are in a hurry to scam someone IMO. If you really want to sell it fast, post it on E-bay with a early closing time and No reserve. It will sell. Most members here check E-bay for great prices on parts too!

Other than that the mods do a good job of cleaning up the post ****** and keeping the scammers out of the community. No complaints thus far!

Gotta get those ITrader ratings, yo!

I'm only at like 30 posts and I think this is a great idea to increase the amount of posts needed to be in the "for sale" section. I'm here to learn as much as possible and to buy quality parts. The more quality control the better! Maybe we could work in the ITrader into this somehow but that can be for a later time.

Edit: nope only at 28 posts hahaha

I don't really think it matters. It would be like turning EvoM into Costco, you have to fulfill certain requirements to buy sell stuff and that's just going to turn people away. Who cares how many post you have and its pretty obvious when someone is a scammer, even if its not just call your bank and they'll return your money.

Although I've been a member for a very short period of time, I have to say it's relatively hard posting legitimate posts opposed to "whoring" the board.

I'm assuming there have been an increase in scams for this topic to come up?!
