Is there a plan to implement this?

It's 45 on topic posts to break loose from the Newbie title. I really hope the reputation rating is done though. I don't particularly care for crap posts in on topic forums solely for the purpose of boosting post count.

I pointed this out in another thread, but the actual counter seems to have changed:

0 - 44 Newbie
45 - 399 Evolving
400+ Evolved

Beat me to it.

I agree with you Hobie, even though most of my time here is OT, I would like some measure of the posters who post good on-topic material.

I think the general concensus is that we do it in order to give something back to the site.

No, we do not get paid.

I thought all of this had been discussed in several other thread. I could be wrong.

Yeah, it has been about 40 times.

BTW, it's always been 45 to get to Evolving (at least since I registered).

That credibility rating thing would kick butt... as long as the "smart" people don't start using it to lord over the "not-so-smart" people. In other words I don't need Andrew kicking my butt around in a forum

Yeah, I'm so cruel to poor Stevey-wevey.

Steve, I think you know more about cars than I do. I just have all the bad experience type knowledge.

I've seen sites where you vote and rank other members...I think that's pretty cool, but I dunno if it suites our needs. Actually I kinda wanna get back into fixing the member status things to something a little liss arbitrary than post count and a bit more reflective of members' actual contributions. Hell, maybe we could give gold stars for how to's/installs/contributions. I think that'd make Steve, Brian (UrbanKnight) and Sten all 5-star generals in the US Lancer forums.
