Chris,

I understand your concerns and I know things have their own appearance from the outside, but I assure you that I, nor should the moderators, exude a bias towards a particular vendor. My own Evo has Vishnu products on there, but I carry no allegiance to Vishnu themselves. I actually chose those products for my Evo based on what my needs were. I never intended to sway consumers towards one path vs others and I certainly have no interest to sway the members of this site their way.

1. I have reported posts and have been rebuffed. I've been told that the offending individuals did nothing wrong, when in fact THEY instigated most of the nonsense. More good posts have been completely closed because of a couple people than I can count.
Although it may not always work out the way you want, it will really help to receive reported posts. Keep in mind that we have a number of moderators on the Evo sections and that means each one will receive an email. That really helps with "Checks and Balances" as more than one person knows what was reported and if something may have happened or not.

I know that some members have gotten into heated situations that sway topics too far from their beginnings. We're trying very hard to stay on top of topics that come up to make sure they don't get to that point. I also assure you that those members that have caused topics to sway over and over again know exactly what will happen if that continues. Many are on bubbles and many have been dealt with. The ultimate goal is to establish a great structure that the members can adhere to and the moderators can enforce.

2. If the aforementioned activity never makes it into this forum, I don't see how it affects this forum. A lot of verbal activity occurs outside of this site that is much more detrimental to a lot of people than what occurs here. How are you going to corral that? My point is that unless someone were to quote something from another site (NASIOC, ***************, a local/regional site, etc.) that is completely inflammatory to EvoM, I don't see how exerting pressure on that site is justified.
I don't plan to correct anything that occurs on another site, especially when it comes to the members. Our moderators are to adhere to much stricter guidelines because they play a more important role in the site and their actions reflect upon more than themselves.

3. While I understand many posts are omitted for cause, there needs to be a balance. To be preferential in determining whose posts are deleted will alienate more of the members even further than they already are.
This certainly isn't an intentional action by our moderators as we carry no interest to help one person over another. Keep in mind that would only add to the number of complaints or isssues that are dealt with. I really do feel this portion is a misunderstanding vs. a bias. Obviously that's something that will have to be show over the next few weeks, month,, but I can at least give my assurance on that matter.

Note to Mark - When I was about to delete my account, we discussed how to keep the forum lively and balanced. At first, I noticed a positive change, however when certain individuals maintain a "teflon" ability to post unchecked, those of us subject to the rules of the forum are inclined to get perturbed at the subjectivity of their application. Please take note that many of us can see between the lines (or the dollar signs, however the case may be).
Again, I think that continuing to report the posts and discussing the matters with the mods will only help in this matter. If the issue of bias can be put to the side, then more headway can be made. Basically help us help you. If we don't see if your way, try your best to explain the situation in a way we may understand and we'll try our best to resolve the matter. Is that fair enough?

Mark

Just an addendum...when people report threads, if a staff member is on the fence about a decision he or she will almost always bring it to the other staff members for a sort of council decision.

So, while you may not get the desired result (maybe not immediately, or maybe not at all), when it comes to grey areas there's often more than one person making decisions. I personally think that helps with our ability to make more fair and impartial decisions.
